#58 Poor man's Sam Perkins? He isn't a high flyer but guy can play; especially the possibility to shoot well from 3. As he works out in the off-seasons could get fitter like Xavier Tillman did.

I've looked at Childs a lot. He reminds me of Jared Sullinger.

He thinks he's going to be a steal.

Not many mocks, but this one mock has him at #40. He might be good value at #58.

Oooooh Vernon Carey's per 36 looks HOT! At #27 there right before Isiah Stewart at #28.

Just catching up on some film on Florida State's Trent Forrest who was the leader of the team despite young stars in Vassell and Williams. He is a 6-4 PG who is a decent creator who is a bit of a battering ram who loves to get contact at the rim. Plays strong defense at the point of attack. He reminds me of Marcus Smart with his strength but his jumper needs to improve.

Here is yamming on Jordan Nwora to cement a huge win against Louisville.

He played against a so-called top notch defensive player in Tre Jones at Duke and he easily won the match-up with 18 points. Forrest had 8 steals and is a regular ACC leader in steals. He is a master of pinching in late to rotate to a ballhandler from their blind side for a strip. It is very much like how FVV gets his steals.

He will be available at 58, but I think will be a 'bet on yourself' guy, if they pursue hard they can get to be a two-way guy to get reps in the G-League.

https://www.barttorvik.com/ is really useful for sorting NCAA guys by nearly any stat you want

PIPM for NCAA prospects is data you have to pay to access, its like $5 USD so depends on how much you want but you can usually find it on twitter for specific prospect if you look

You can really see the separation between the two prospects. Nnaji is a prodigy who is a consummate performer, while Pons tempo and spacing are off kilter but he brings an energy and verve when he picks up his instrument.

I think I like Jalen Smith over Zeke Nnaji. Nnaji has to all-american teammates in Mannion and Green who could also be 1st round picks, so the games were probably easier because of it. Smith in 2018/2019 had teammate Bruno Fernando who is drafted #34 by the Atlanta Hawks, thus his production was just okay. This year his 2 best teammates are Cowan and Wiggins, who aren't NBA prospects.
Arizona was tied for 5th in the Pac 12, while Maryland was tied for #1 in the Big Ten with Michigan State and Wisconsin but had the the best overall record.

Really Jalen Smith's shot-blocking and 3 pt shooting for a PF/C are good. Also he shoot 75% FTs.

Nembhaard to Gonzaga is a fantastic decision. Hopefully he has a breakout season next year.

If we're going for a big, then Reggie Perry remains my guy.

What's the knock on him? I haven't deeply looked into him but he's looked good in pretty much every clip I've watched of him.

He's got a motor and plays hard (cheque)
He's got physical tools (cheque)
He can do stuff with the ball (cheque)

edit: Just checked out his stats. On a low volume of 3 point shots, he shoots a low 3pt percentage at 31% over his 2 seasons in college... but his free throw percentage is really high at 75%. Does he have problems with his shooting mechanics?

It's possible. He's dropped on a ton of mock drafts.

Seen a bit of Perry before but looking at more videos I'd say he is a big but he's definitely mainly a 4 and I wouldn't trust him to play the 5 full time like the other guys mentioned.
I didn't know he could pass that well though

With 3 picks in the first round I don't see him falling past Boston

I'm fine with Perry but He's not my top choice. He's got interesting versatility at the 4. He's got bounce, passing, decent stroke, can handle a bit and pass. Not sure about his defense though. His wingspan is just ok, but with his hops he should be blocking more shots. His perimeter defense is also a bit suspect.

Boston's got 2 picks before the Raptors but yes. You are probably correct.

Came across a real interesting match-up video with Xavier Tillman versus Jalen Smith.

Tillman: 14 points, 12 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 blocks, 1 steal
Smith: 20 points, 12 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 block

Smith had some issues with Tillman inside both on offense and defense as Tillman is thicker and stronger but, the thing that stuck out to me is how basic Tillman is as a player. Just a guy who makes some simply plays on offense. If he is within 6 feet he has a good chance of scoring he will take it or pass it out and repost. There is not a lot to see but good screens and basic good positioning and intelligence on the court.

Smith is all arms and legs. He is a bit unbalanced on offense, but he moves quickly and is often in too much of a hurry. However, I really like the way he can move off the ball and shoot from outside. He also is a willing shotblocker who is a natural rim protector. He just seems like a bouncy athlete.
