Which makes drafting Kuminga highly unlikely for the Raptors.

There are people that think he will fall out of the top 5 or 6.

They think he is the second coming of Stanley Johnson...and I just can't see that. There is more fluidity in Kuminga vs Stanley. Kuminga has a bigger and more athletic body than Stanley...and the right development program can bring more out of Kuminga.

Possible, but highly unlikely.

I'm not really that high on Kuminga as a good fit for the Raptors so I don't see this as necessarily a bad thing.

What are our odds of falling from 7 (8-10)? Anyone know?

I'm almost preparing myself to be picking at #8.

Sliding to 8 or 9 means that a team above us has leaped into the top 4...which slides every team down accordingly. So for example, if the #8 and/or #9 worst record jumps up into top 4...we slide to 8 if one of those teams jumps up and 9 if two teams jump up to top 4.

I would say there is a decent chance of that happening.

And ya...with this team...I'd bet on less good thing happens more than the good thing. Or maybe I'm just preparing myself for disappointment given the nightmare season.

They are literally in that link.

Tankathon gives a per slot break down in that chart.

Read across the chart. So, raps row and 8th column has 34.1 (meaning 34.1%percent we end up with 8th pick).

9th column is 12.9

10th is 1.3

Add those up to get the odds of dropping ( ~48.3%).

So~ Half our odds to fall back, ~1/3 to jump into the top 4, and the rest to stay at 7.

You should absolutely be preparing to pick 8th or lower. It is basically a coin flip...

Those are still good odds for a franchise player.

I like Keon Johnson's game. Fits our style. If he can get improvement on his shot, that'd be a solid pick @ 7

Ya. I can see him being very good and a good fit from a roster construction perspective.

That said, I like alot of the prospects available at 7. It's gonna be tough to pick the 'right' guy from that tier. Some of these guys will be busts. It happens every year.

I have faith in our scouting department; they've been able to find a couple revisionist top 5 picks in the 20's, and a lottery pick in the second round.

They seem to prioritize all-NBA defensive team potential. Poeltl, Siakam, OG, Delon, Flynn, Bruno...

To me that means Keon, Davion, Moody, Springer and Barnes.

Maybe a guy like Kai if they like his talent base.

I think they would love to have Mobley. Suggs, Kuminga and Cade all seem like legitimate 2-way players too. So, the top picks are all in play (even Green looks like he has the tools to be an adequate defender, I haven't seen enough of him to write him off on that end).

But most think that there's no way that a team takes Kuminga ahead of Cade, Evan, Suggs and Green so at best he's #5.

Right now Kuminga is Patrick Willams that didn't put up good numbers. With a deep top 4, Kuminga should go 6-10.

Many can see Barnes, Keon, Jalen Johnson, Mitchell and Moody jumping ahead of Kuminga. Heck some think Bouknight and 1 poster Tre Mann! :D

Our team is elite defensively when they lock in we need reliable shot making to balance that out as long as they not a complete negative on the other side that's the player you take

Nothing ever has been more obvious then the fact that Masai drafts/signs based on character and personality above pure talent.

He doesn’t draft tough guys/fake tough guys/party boys. He goes after well spoken/polite/humble/nice guys with high upside and banks on their intangibles to reach their ceiling.

You’d be better off watching these players interviews/observing their social media’s to get an idea who Masai will take

What's the story on Bouknight? Sophomore 6'5 SG with good athleticism and three level scoring potential. His game kinda reminds me of a Lavine/Murray combo

Wow, didn't know odds worked like this, so basically we have a higher chance of getting 8th instead of 7th. That sucks.

He had some off the court issues regarding a hit and run. And he some injury issues this year. He put up good scoring numbers though. Question with him is, if the ball isn't in his hands, what else does he provide?

I like him for his scoring ability but he could end up being a bench spark plug type of guy.

And consider that the 7/8 worst records jumped up into the top 4 two years in a row (10th worst record too in 2019) since these new lottery odds were introduced...what are the odds of it happening a third year in a row? We are not that lucky as a franchise and I don't think Adam Silver would allow it...lol...i.e. we are not the Pelicans who get gifted number 1 picks because it incentivizes ownership groups to invest or when the league wants Anthony Davis traded to LA.

I still contend that if the raps don't get a top 4 pick, then they will draft davion mitchell.

he's a perfect fit on the raps.
