I'm not seeing the upside with Banton that everyone else is.

He has potential sure, but his fundamentals and lack of feel for the guard position just doesn't add up for me.

He’s not going to be a go to scorer for us right now with the main roster anyways

For the record he's putting up more assists than any of Cade Green Mobley Suggs Kuminga, and fewer turnovers than all of them too.

making the right passes, and handling the ball with poise. he's always getting hounded too by smaller guards when hes on the perimeter. his handles and court awareness is impressive for someone who is raw.

What does Fred get criticized for? Often it is too much dribbling. I dont see that with Malachi. The man hasn't even played a full year for the team. At this point, all I really care about is turnovers. His turnover rate is low.

Yeah, Banton needs some 905 time. But second round, so it's expected.

Banton could be a salvageable but I still think he would have been available as an undrafted guy. Not seeing a guy in a deep draft class that was worth a pick.

Banton before this game was 0-8 from three, 44% from the freethrow line and 37% from the field. I know it is a small sample size, but damn this guy is needing some serious gym time. It is great he has a handle, but he has almost no hope of scoring.

Banton should probably spend a good portion of the year with the 905 since he’s not ready contribute quite yet and could benefit a lot from running the Gleague team with the ball in his hands

As a 2nd year player I could see him being a key piece of the bench

Yeah he will probably be with the 905 until after the all star break and come to the big team to play spot minutes. The year after he will play a lot more as his jumper and body will be a bit better by then.

After Goran's fate has been decided, would be my guess.

Lack of feel? Feel is why he’s so exciting as a prospect. That’s the last thing I’d criticize him for. He just can’t shoot yet which is the most learnable NBA skill so I’m not worried.

Most of the guys we’ve developed spent just 1 season in the Gleague. Like Siakam, Norm, Fred, even Harris started to show some signs of being able to contribute after 1 condensed Gleague season
