Deal doesn't work straight up due to Huerter's poison pill contract.

Dragic, Boucher, Svi and Yuta for Gallo and Huerter works though.

Portland will probably be buying out Bledsoe and Satoransky per John Hollinger

The Gallo 5m guRanteed next year is something that might intrigue Masai. I dont like the player but he could take him on and then look to flip him at the draft

Yesterday felt like deadline day. Hard to imagine bigger deals going through in the next 36 hours.

my guess is we don't see any other 'stars' dealt (unless if this Simmons deal occurs), but a lot of the smaller depth/cap-motivated deals typically don't go through until right up to the deadline.

Not sure I understand the logic behind people adding Huerter to a Dragic to ATL deal. Isn't their incentive to take on Dragic the financial freedom his contract brings to be able to withstand Young and Huerter's extensions kicking in? If they want to move Huerter I'm sure they can do better than just a straight up cap dump, I'd think.

Lance Stephenson was the first we should have picked up before he signed with Indiana

I like the players you having coming in, but I don't think we could bench GTJ with how well he's been playing of late...

That is sort of where I end up every time I start thinking about bringing in a big, who goes to the bench?

Then, if the big we bring in is just a bench player, what is the sense in losing future picks for that when we already have 3 bench bigs(ish)?

To me, a trade of dragic for bench guard / bench wing is the most sensible play, with possible 2nd round pick(s) attached if needed

There is no logic. People are just being a bit greedy when reading that Atlanta is open to moving almost anyone. I think the Hawks are looking to make a quantity for quality trade by packaging a few guys for a more impactful player. So any trade of Huerter (and whomever else) would have to return a better player.

If we don't trade Dragic for something, we will lose the ability to add a player(s) at that type of salary. We have no cap space going forward, even if we trade Dragic for a player with a similar salary and an extra year we should be making that deal. Raps will be over the cap and likely wanting to stay under the tax and to maximize this roster going forward obtaining a player with a similar salary to Goran or someone who we can likely re-sign is imperative

Ya, that's why get a guy that helps the playoff run and has 1 more year left so can us it again next year to take on another player with 1.5-2.5 years left. Can also use the MLE if needed.

It's like having the Turkoglu, Marion, Jermaine O'Neal thing to keep flipping.

Imagine we sent Dragic to the Suns for their 1st 2024, Saric and others and rerouted Saric, Suns pick 2024 and our pick 2022 for Jerami Grant. Not going to happen but I can see them leaning even harder into 6'8 craziness rather than getting a true big or even a guard.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

Fully guaranteed on June 29 2022. Timing works for your suggestion as draft is June 23.

Chasing players who get hunted all the time on defense and you can't play in the playoffs is not the way to go even if he is a lights out shooter.

Didn't they change the CBA so that after the trade deadline, you have to guarantee the contract before you can trade it for the full amount? Otherwise, it will just be worth $5 mill for trading purposes.

I really don't see the point of trading for Gallo. He's unplayable in our system. Bogdan, yes. Harris, yes.

It could make some sense. We usually target these cap advantages in the past.

Use Gallo for some bench scoring 15 minutes a night then look to flip for him for same type of deal now. They studied all the teams already during this process so they could try again on draft night.
