How should the team move forward this season?

I read the opposite, that Vivek wanted Luka but Divac the fellow countryman of Luka opted to go with Bagley.

Nope. There's no way that Divac overrides Vivek. If Vivek wanted Luka, Luka would be a King right now.

That makes more sense. I remember reading that after Stauskas he backed off and wanted bpa with Luka. lol this is more in line with Vivek.

720, this is off topic but what are your thoughts about the leadership of the Toronto Raptors with FVV potentially signing a 4 year 120+ million dollar contract moving forward?

I dont know the internal information but if based on offers theye heard they think theres a good chance to trade him @ that salary without giving up a first round pick & even getting talent back, go for it. If they think itll be a bloated contract that they cant trade & they still sign him then thats a failure on their part imo. Retain the asset if it'll stay an asset but that depends on how many teams were into him and what they were offering, if its a lot of teams & some interesting offers and FO doesn't see a major dropoff in his production moving forward then signing him is the right move.

Look up Ralph Sampson.

Some players have far more injury risk than others. Wemby is still obviously the clear cut #1 but he's not as good of a prospect as Lebron and Luka. Lebron and Luka would be considered far safer picks.

We've never seen someone with Wemby's body type have a long career in this league.

Luka didn't even go #1 in his own draft class lol. PHX, SAC, and ATL all passed on him. Obvs that's on the GM's but strictly as a prospect Luka was never in the LBJ/KAJ/Shaq/Duncan/Wemby tier

Wembenyama has been considered the best prospect in the world since at least summer 2020. Mike Schmitz of DX was on Windhorst's pod that summer and they declared him that, at a time when there was still some Emoni bates hype. Jonathan Givony said he's the best prospect he's personally scouted.

Multiple analysts have declared him the best prospect since Bron, easily the highest expectations of any recent prospect.

It was pretty obvious at the time of the draft that Luka should have gone #1. Phoenix had the pressure of taking the Arizona product in Ayton, and then apparently that idiot Vivek Ranadive insisted on taking Bagley. And its also pretty obvious this year that Victor should be the number 1 pick because he literally is 7 foot 5 and plays like Kevin Durant on offense, Rudy Gobert on defense.....

Yes, agreed. But it's also pretty obvious that people with his body type have not had long careers. We can praise his enormous skillset while also raising some concerns about his long-term potential. I promise you NBA teams are doing the same thing.

Yeah, he's going to be the #1 pick because if you pass on him and he is as advertised early on, you're getting fired. Me personally, with nothing at stake I would bet on Scoot over Victor long term, but again I understand why most if not all front offices don't view it that way.

Los, out of curiousity do you have any thoughts about the longevity/careers of 5'11 two guards with a sort of pudgy body type?

Don't think I've ever seen a player with that body type at two guard. Patty Mills wouldn't be considered pudgy but he is under 6ft. He's still going strong at 34. Players 6ft and under can play a long time in this league. Kyle and CP3 are in their mid-late 30s. Either way, they certainly play a lot longer than guys who are 7'5 and 210lbs.

The way our offense has looked without him, he probably should hijack it more often.
