if raptors ever hope to get to that level again, we need barnes to get to kawhi level lol

Celtics could've won had Tatum just played at Tatum level. Very winnable series.

It's easy to say that you need to have a top 5-10 talent in this league. But Celtics had no problem beating the Nets, Bucks and Heat on their path to the finals. Celtics won those series because they were the better team. KD, Lebron, Jokic, Luka, Giannis, Embiid were all at home watching tonight. Ultimately teams win championships.

Let's not forget Curry was bounced in the play-in game last year.

Curry won the series for them in game 4.
What a superstar.

With how he changed the game, dont see how he's not top 10 all time now

makes me really sad. Guy makes basketball look like art. I far more enjoyed watching him this last decade then LeBron. Will take a long time to ever see a player like him again

You would have to be crazy to not put Curry in the top 5. Man absolutely changed the game for the better or worse, and got 4 rings out of it. This year, pretty much on his own. And I'm sure he would've done just fine without KD.

There is no player that makes you nervous, even when he's got the ball on the logo, even at 34. There's really no player that you feared like that watching as the fan of the other team.

Scottish Barnes is the key to it - got Frederick and Siakam still in tact from that 'ship team, just missing Kawhi, and that's where Scottish Barnes comes in.

Not necessarily. Kawhi was debatably the best player in the league when we won in 2018/19 while Steph was a borderline top 10 player this season then he had a big playoff run. Tatum choked (21.5 PPG on 37% shooting) and Boston's bench was terrible (White and Williams were a combined -117), yet they were still on the brink of forcing a G7.

If anything, this run that the Celtics had should be encouraging for us as our team is built in a very similar way. The only thing we need is a legit #1/#2 (depending on how you view Siakam, but I think this season + playoffs proved he can be a very good 1B type of player) and Scottie has the potential to be at that level in a year or two.

At least we can still continue to say that we're one of the 2 Teams whom defeated the Warriors Dynasty

I liked what Bob Meyers said in postgame a few minutes ago. He didn't break up the team core as many teams would have done after 2 lean years plus losing KD. He said he felt the core deserved a chance to stay together until they got beat. Much better approach than tearing down and blowing up rosters.
There goes my hero. Watch him as he goes.

Easily the worst Warriors team in the last 9 years with a clearly declined Klay/Draymond and still won this pretty easily (due largely to Tatum and the Celtics choking pretty hard, but that wasn't too surprising). The NBA's really there for the taking in the next few years, it seems.

Klay and Dray did just enough to keep it going. I’d say the real help came from Wiggins and Poole, holy smokes did those two show out in their first meaningful playoff run. While this Warriors team is the weakest of the dynasty, it was pretty balanced and deep enough to support Curry all he had to do was show up and not get torched too badly on defense as well.

Van Vleet
Delon Wright
Lebron
Embiid

There are only 2 teams in the league that rank in the top 6 in offensive and defensive efficiency: the Golden State Warriors and the Toronto Raptors.

Draymond just said the Warriors had never been beaten whole before. That's fair (albeit disrespectful) concerning the Raptors, but did he just forget about 2016?
