Maluach looks very raw and his feel for the game looks like it’s only in the early stages. It’s just hard to project him when he has so much to learn and understand.
I think I prefer the raw potential of Maluach. A guy like Kon - one of our current wings can probably be developed into a version of what he does in Walter or Dick. Maluach, if he puts it together can completely transform the team. I would probably risk him being a bust over missing out on Kon.
I agree with all.of this.
It is hard to project Kon and Maluach as NBA players. They both might turn out to be fantastic NBA players.......or rhey might end up being bench players.. (I do believe Darko and Raptors brass will love both of these guys though)
One of my concerns with Kon is that physicality is a big part of his game because that's where he has an advantage. He plays the right way & it would work well for him in almost any league on the planet. Unfortunately the NBA doesn't allow much physicality & the whole superstar calls are real. He may constantly get a bad whistle. He does have pretty good footspeed laterally (better than Gradey), so who knows.......maybe he could figure it out.
I might take.Fears or.Johnson over both of them because those two appear to have allstar potential.
Having said.all that, pre-draft workouts and interviews will tell.more of the story. The Raptors have fheir work cut out for them leading up to this draft.
