Nice under the radar pick but that 38 fg% is awful

.51 TS% isn't as embarrassing

He's not a fit for our team imo (More of a best scorer on a bad team pick) but I'm surprised he isn't getting more buzz cause the talent is there as he has a chance to be a high volume 3pt shooter (currently 36% 3pt), is a talented passer, and has defensive tools in strong wingspan/frame and is the best shotblocking guard in the class and solid stls
It's going to be a glorious day... I feel my luck could change

What are the chances hey reach on Zhou Qi or Thon Maker?

I'd doubt they reach this time. They need guard help and there will be at least one prime guard sitting there for the taking. The only curveball I can see them throwing is taking Korkmaz instead of a Hield, Dunn or Murray.

They needed guard help last year too. They should have taken Mudiay instead of Cauley-Stein. What this team does at the draft never ceases to boggle my mind. I don't know that they have figured it out this time around yet.

Kings are hilarious. Vivek doesn't have a clue about talent at all. I don't know if anyone can find the clip of the Kings draft room in 2014. I think grantland had it. Vivek really liked Stauskas and nobody questioned him.

Seemingly all the latest draft talk has Chriss firmly enriching himself in the 2nd tier of draft prospects. His youth, top end athleticism and most upside are the reasons give.

Tier 1
Simmons, Ingram
Tier 2
Bender, Dunn, Murray, hield, brown and Chriss.

I just want 2 front court players from this draft, With at least one being a PF. We don't need anymore guards. Beyond that, I'd make an exception if one of: Dunn, Hield, or Murray falls to us.

Just read an Antonio McDyess comp to Marquese Chriss. Now I see what all the hype is about. McDyess was an absolute beast in his time with his two way play. McDyess had two 20 and 10 years before the knee injury. He averaged around 18 and 9 during his peak years. Definitely could see Chriss becoming that type of player.

You have to consider the fact that it doesn't matter who we draft, they will likely not be a rotation player right away. And our second pick is likely a stash player that will be at least a year away, so this we don't need guards thing is foolish.

I will admit to wanting a PF

But if a Dunn, Hield, Murray, Brown drop to us, we don't say no if they are BPA

As much as we don't need another 2, if Murray falls to us, you gotta grab him.

Not to me. If he's a 4 I think his frame is kinda narrow. His shot is ok but the release point is lower than it should be which negates his height and reach a bit.

I would not mind that maybe there is a deal being discussed between the 2 of like a T-Ross+9th for Barton+15 so we can dump the Ross contract which is fair value since we will get Barton back....Also we move down a bunch of spots but get an ok prospect in Furkan...

Thing is the PF spot will still need to be addressed in that situation ...I am hoping Masai is not looking at Faried in a deal.

This guy is an idiot. He treats players like 2k. It makes me think he will sip the Chriss or Ska cool aid. They got Rondo already anyway. Lol

Hield is, by far, the most overrated player in this draft. He projects as a shooter off the bench in the NBA. Wouldn't even touch him at #9.

It's funny how people completely dismiss Ellenson as a shooter based on his freshman percentages, and then praise the 22 year old Hield as the 2nd coming of Ray Allen. FYI: Hield's freshman 3p%: 23.8%

McDyess averaged 8 rebounds a game in 23.8 minutes of play, or 13.6 per 40 mins.
Chriss averaged 5.4 in 24.9 minutes, or 8.6 per 40 mins.

Their shot blocking numbers are pretty much identical and Chriss can shoot from range while McDyess was generally a poor shooter as a freshman.

Overall, it's not a great comparison. Very different players. Only similarities are their builds and athleticism.

Fair point, but the bigger knock on Ellenson is his defense. Our starting center, who is probably here for the long term, is not a great defender. Ellenson is one of the worst defenders in the draft. This just isn't the right team for him and his skill set.
