If we sign bengay knees gasol I don’t think I can watch this team next season. I can’t watch 4 on 5 basketball while teams just don’t guard him. I rather go with Hernandez.

I can see it now: Nurse over playing McCaw and Gasol smh f... that man. I value my health which is Why I stopped watching the leafs. My heart couldn’t take it and I was drinking uncontrollably after certain games.

I rather watch the Argos man. at least I know they’re not going to embarrass us because nobody is watching.

Whats wrong with having Gasol as a vet back up? He'd be perfect in certain situations and quite honestly he is still great on defense against big men with a high IQ. I do not want him going to the Lakers or even to any of our rivals.

I want Gasol to be resigned just to watch the meltdown some people will have. A good purge of the most emotional and dramatic fans would be great.

Would make my ignore list pretty easy lmao but seriously I know everyone hates Marc and his offensive slump vs the Celtics was a big reason we lost. But his impact metrics still tell me he's useful and out defense would remain elite if we brought him back.

100%. Watching Gasol last year reminded me of when the 'Monstars' stole the capabilities from the NBA stars in Space Jam. He was a gigantic (pun intended) liability!!!!!!!!

ya and he's only going to get a year older....more slower and less athletic than he already is!!! a hard no for me!!!

How many times are you going to spam the same vapid point ? Did you think we weren’t tired of seeing it yet?

Clip and Lakers both capped out. Marc is ours if we want him.

Marc is not the only one to have a bad bubble. Nobody mentions the players that avoided the thing. Yeah you Kyrie and DAJ.

He could have. I have zero doubt the raptors offered him 20 for one year. Something really stinks about this deal.

Just sus all around with the Lakers/Clips getting guys brought in for below market value. Meanwhile Jerami Grant and Joe Harris are getting 20+ mill a year. I won't break out my tin foil hat buuuuuut being in LA just makes things so damn easy.

Well firstly 19/2=9.5 million. Second, I strongly doubt we offered more than 15 tops for a single year. We only have 20 below the tax to spend and got to fill 3 spots including Boucher who will probably take more than a minimum. Also, People are harping on Marc’s age but Serge has periodically been sitting for knee soreness despite playing less minutes. He took the guaranteed money and the chance to choose whether or not to hit the market next year.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

Biz is a no brainer for the raps. He wouldn't have to move house this year.

I understand that people are still pissed at Marc for playing poorly during the bubble. But you also have to realize that we're salary capped at the moment. If we don't re-sign Gasol, we'll only have the MLE in which to sign at least two and maybe three bigs, because we simply can't go into the season with only 3 or 4 guys capable of playing at the C and PF positions.

Not only would we be giving big minutes to Hernandez, a guy who isn't ready yet, but we'd be one or two injuries away from relying on 10-day contracts for important minutes throughout the season. And before anyone comes back with "I'd rather have a 10-day contract scrub than Gasol" just realize that that's stupid and letting emotion cloud your judgement, something I'm fairly convinced Masai and Bobby won't do. At this point this is a numbers game, and getting Gasol back helps us enormously.

Lmao this is probably the desperation talking but is Whiteside that bad? Lmao like I know his weaknesses but he has such interesting tools as a defender.

The best skill we have on this team is giving a ****. If you sign guys that don’t, the effort of the whole team will suffer or Nurse will simply bench him and play McCaw at centre if necessary.

Baynes is the only player that can save us now.

Amen.

The Raptors have a culture where every player that gets on the floor is expected to play defence. The culture is precious; don't take a player who is a culture risk, because once you lose the culture, it is hard to get back.

The Pistons lost their culture when they traded Chauncey Billups to Denver in 2009. Joe Dumars though it would be easy to get back. Still waiting a decade later, and haven't won a playoff round since.

I'd rather have 10-day contracts instead of Whiteside
In a no-win argument, the first poster to Let It Go will at least retain some peace of mind

We need Gasol to guard Embiid and Vujevic in the playoffs! No other big man in the league that can neutralize those guys! So yeah bring him back and replace Ibaka with Harris or Baynes and we’re back in biz!
