I remember this guy before the 2021 draft, he was doing a podcast where he talked about Suggs and how he didn't view him as anything special. Said Suggs would top out as a one or two time All Star and saw his high end outcome as a Jrue Holiday type of player. Smart guy, good evaluator.

Which would actually be a nice addition to the team if he could become a thread from the 3.

Still...the guy nailed it with his take.

I fricken love this play because look how fired up every guy on the floor is. First time I've seen Siakam show emotion on the court all season long. Just love how everyone celebrated that big basket by Scottie.

WE'RE SO BACK. Keep the good vibes rollin'!

Now his already great metrics that are regressed against position average should look even better and he should set stocks (blocks+steals) records for a guard :)

Man, wouldn't have minded JJ as an assistant after that comment.

Which brings us back to the meat left on the bone here for Barnes:

Is the bad fit of Poetl with starters forcing us out of the Scottie hub plan, or was the plan always for our various C's (including Barnes in his limited time there, although not really seeing much of it there either) to be the hub, regardless of fit?

I'm still really hanging on to this being a slow roll-out and giving some of the bench bigs a chance. Because this is an easy way to up his production and efficiency - with a likely uptick in turnovers - without it being tied to his long range shooting.

The one true glaring sub-optimal usage of him so far by Darko. The Jak problem being an FO blunder that has maybe affected his plans.

Sam gets it. Wanting more out of Scottie for his passing reads and seeing the potential ceiling. Getting close to a place like LeBron or Jokic to make yourself truly unguardable.

None of this Nurse Iso scoring BS focus, but seeing how good he can get with vision. Just another reason why Scottie hub needs to be prioritized. We have to accelerate this development.

Definitely not going to happen with this roster construction, even if they force him to be a hub. It just wont pay off with little to no shooting.

A Jak injury could be enough on its own to make a lot of this happen. It would still require Darko to decide this is how the offense should run, but once you see a lot of Boucher/Precious making too many decisions it could force the issue for him.

I dont think the issue is Darko, like I said it's the roster. Unless you mean an injury to Jak would force Masai to start some trades?

Darko really employing the okc offense using Barnes as the Westbrook hub.

Westbrook created so many opportunities to go on a fast break (even if the other team has gone back already) as soon as he got the rebound. Raptors doing the same thing with Scottie this year. You love to see it

Raptors are well within the best transition offense in the league (ppp)
