This is what got me about the early criticism. He clearly knows how to play. Passing, cuts etc. it was literally just his shot not falling.

You could see the potential

Nah if you watched him play in the G League he looked as bad as Jalen McDaniels. He’s a totally different player now.

It's almost at the point where every time he shoots it, I expect it to go in.

I hate playing against those types of guys, so it's nice to have one.

But even more than that, what it seems like anyway…

Some guys can have a hot streak. But his stroke looks so repeatable. This kid looks like he could be very consistent for us. Someone you can pencil in for XYZ. Allows management to look for other pieces.

Feels weird to have a knock down shooter on our team in Gradey. It's been a while since we had one that's reliable, gary can go back to the bench pls.

I watched him play in the NBA and he was doing similar things to what he's doing now, the biggest difference is that now the shot is falling. I didn't need to watch him on a terrible G League team in a league that caters to ball hogs.

I really keep coming back to this thread to read the stupid takes on him earlier in the thread. And people who are so wrong argue everything like they know everything, nothing will ever humble them

Disagree, I thought he was playing the right way , just things weren’t falling.

Exactly. Even people who followed him from our media in the G-League mentioned the same thing. He has simply just turned his game around in an unprecedented way. A guy doesn't go from as bad as he looked to as good as he looked normally. It's a crazy change.

It isn't out of the realm of possibilities to see his 3 point percentage end up close to .400 by end of season. That's nuts lol

My only complaint now is that we're not playing him more!

Let me tell you as a Kansas fan, he didn’t even look this good in college. This has been eye-opening.

Good to see dick finding his fit as he slid into the lineup. His fit seems more smooth and comfortable instead of looking rough and a bit forced like it did earlier.

Yes.

Can we please not extend Trent, and have him start at the 2? No way I want Trent on this team...

Assuming the roster doesn't change, I'd start Agbaji for the defense and keep Gradey on the bench as a 6th man. He'll get more shots from the bench too.

The off-season will be interesting if we don't keep GTJr and Bruce Brown. There are a ton of decent FA role players we can steal.

We'll need a combo guard off the bench (target = Malik Monk) and another 3+D defensive wing (Royce O'Neal, Isaac Okoro?), maybe one that can start. Team also really needs an additional defensive big that doesn't need a lot of minutes, but is insurance for when Poeltl is out or when we need help against the Embiid's/Jokic's (target = Goga Bitadze)

I'd also like Jalen Smith..just because

Who saw his solid positional defense today? His ability to track down rebounds? His cutting. All the rgm elite were calling him a one trick pony 20 games into his bloody career. I got super worried about how badly his shot was off and it was hard seeing his fellow rookies thrive but he seems to have the temperament and work ethic to be great. Hopefully his journey keeps trending the right way

That's nuts.
