I want to know how workouts for Mobley/Green/Suggs/Kuminga/Barnes go. Only 2 weeks away.

Suggs and Mobley are probably praying they drop to us Not only would we be the most competitive team in the top 4 but we would have a hole readily available for them to fill with Lowry's departure and the trash we started last season at C. A ton of minutes available with the our reputation of developing young guys, it would be a dream fit for any rook.

Honestly either guy would be a fantastic choice and luckily for Masai/Bobby they really just need to go with whose left. Mobley gives us that missing link in the starting unit and Suggs gives us a dynamic guard to pair with Steady Freddy.

mobley strikes me as a duncan type, crazy. suggs strikes me as a jkidd. You just cant go wrong.

Mobley is a Duncan type?? Ie. like the best power forward of all time?? That’s a ridiculous comparison. Duncan had the fundamentals and moves down-pat, and he had a strong well built body coming into the league. That’s not Mobley.

i said type, not a clone ffs. and mobleys strengths are his fundamentals, also duncan spent how many years in college? he wasnt always mr fundamental.

and ofc there are differences, but again mobleys main strength is the positions he takes up defensively. The difference between mobley and duncan is mobley is longer and more agile while duncan is more stout.

To be fair those guys barely played. We also had a guy like Matt Thomas, doesn't mean we are going to draft Corey Kispert.

With the 4th pick, the FO isn't looking for a guy who projects to be a nice bench piece. Whoever they draft is going to be someone that they think can be a star.

Suggs and Mobley are on the same tier. I reject this notion he's below. Until the day Mobley actually shows it.

Just like Dame was a low ceiling guy? Like CP below Bogut, Marvin Williams, DWill? Like Lowry in the freakin 20's? Like BRoy at 6?

No way the Cavs take Kuminga that early, I suspect they're evaluating trade-down opportunities, and probably the same ones we've been throwing around (Magic's 2 picks, Warriors picks etc).

Of course individual workouts will go well for Kuminga, all of his weaknesses manifest in a team setting. I don't see a guy who went 39/25/63 and was lost defensively going #3. Why not just take Barnes at that point, as he has the same physical profile but has already shown elite defense and playmaking? (that won't happen either - just playing hypotheticals).

I think they're angling for a deal.

Kuminga was playing against men and using the NBA 3 point line while Barnes was playing against boys. There is a vast difference if you are going to look at raw stats.

That explains some of Kuminga's inefficiency *maybe*, not his complete lack of awareness on either end of the ball

Again, this is irrelevant since neither is good enough to be drafted at #3, but Kuminga is a complete gamble whereas Barnes at least brings two qualities that already project at either elite (defense) or very good (playmaking, especially for a PF) levels.
