All we've been doing is playing good teams lol and doing so short handed...

Yet in every game and now as we're starting to get healthier, WINNING more games and that will only continue to increase as we get healthier and the schedule continues to soften up/the real tank teams put it in overdrive to the bottom.

Miami, Indiana aren't good.

The wolves have their own issues.

We've been beating the mid teams, not the actually good teams.

Our next opponent is OKC, that'll be a real test to see where the team is at.

So your qualifier is they have to beat one of the 2-3 best teams in the league WITHOUT their starting PG or starting SG to prove to you they're not a tanking team anymore?! that's a ridiculously high bar to set...you'd have to be a dynastic team to have the expectation that you're gonna beat the best team in the West that way.

The Celtics and the Cavs aren't beating OKC without their starting guards but that's somehow gonna be what it takes to convince you of otherwise?! That's not even rational, sorry.

Tank is dead boyohs, probably end with 10th or 11th pick.

I could care less about "seeing it" this year, we'll get to see it for the next damn near decade lol. How our FO plays their hand THIS season will largely dictate if this team will be a real contender or just an entertaining pretender, without a top 10 or fantastic luck of someone falling, we project to be the later of the 2 options.

Agreed, something is wrong with those posters saying "I just want to see this team fully healthy". We can see them fully healthy next season so gtfoh with that

Pretty sure they made a movie about you two.

this thread is very over reactionary. i'd be surprised if they don't 1 - 4 to close out this home stand.

this team is on pace to win 26 games and they'll finish the season right around 25 to 30 wins. they'll head into the lottery in similar position as last season in the 6 to 8 range. then they'll move up to a top 4 pick. just decide now if you prefer Demin or Harper.

For the rest of the month about to go up against Okc, Houston and Dallas once, NY twice, ending with the Celtics on the 31st.

Not saying anything, but I want to see what our record is after that.

Adjusting our expectations slightly lol

I'd be ecstatic to get scoring point guard Noah Traore, allowing us to bring Quickley off the bench again in a super 6th man role.

we tank for real with 15-game losing streak => end up with no FRP

we have our FRP in a top heavy draft => can't tank properly

With 0.318 win/5th worse record... 9th hardest remaining schedule...

Tank must be done.

The East is so pathetic, we are 2 games behind the 8 spot.

Imagine we had a full squad, we would definitely have >2 extra wins. In an alt world, we are sitting in the number 6 spot.

The interesting thing is, even if you sell Brown and Olynyk for future picks and ZERO contributing players, it makes no difference to the tank.

We could realistically go .500 from here, and end up with the 10-11 spot, which puts us around pick 8-10.

It is, it just came too late. We should have traded our vets two years ago. We're now starting our rebuild when our young core is entering their prime.

I disagree with that take. Two years ago, I even created a thread advocating for a rebuild and tanking strategy, but it got locked because we had two All-Stars in Fred and Siakam, along with OG, Barnes, and Nurse at the helm. At the time, the majority (around 90% of the comments and 75% poll responses) were against the idea, convinced we were "too good" to rebuild. People often rewrite history in hindsight.

What does that have to do with whether or not we should have tanked?

People thought it was a crazy idea and it wasnt even possible since we were too good and it would required to trade almost everyone for nothing.

Show me your tank thread 2-3 yrs ago. What's your point of going back in time?

One win and everyone says the tank is dead

This team is 7-15 for a reason. The Pacers are a sorry defensive team. This team can be .500 against mid teams. When it comes the BOS and OKCs there's a clear difference. Not to mention Raps are still sorry on the road (1-11 record)

A 7-9 position in the lottery with these new odds will play in our favour.

Never been a tanker.

Until this season. Top 5 pick makes sense with our current roster in this thread. I definitely want those odds..

But I've always thought maybe we had too many good players and a style that would yield something like 30 wins min.

Even with injuries..these dudes still kill it with what they have. Scottie makes a big difference. EQ will make another significant upgrade.

Tough spot!

This argument is going in circles. You’re saying we should have tanked 2-3 years ago, but if that was truly your stance back then, where’s the thread or discussion to back it up? Pointing fingers and dwelling on past decisions doesn’t accomplish anything now specially when many said it was improbable and almost impossible back then. Honestly, your stance just comes across "to me" as an "I told you so" moment. Some has used this to put the front office in a negative light.
