My guess is Childress though, or possibly Morrow. Has to be a guy like those, around 25, and not a guy around 30, like Barnes. You would hope, anyway.

Butler has never earned that kind of money; he's a minimum salary player next year, maybe $1.5 million.

better be Ronnie Brewer, young player, has potential, ELITE defender and can fit with our core. It better not be gomes, if it is fine but not for the full MLE. Like **** BC. I think its Brewer though, Memphis recently didnt extend a QO out to him so i think BC is going for him.

Also could be Childress since Joe Johnson jjust signed..

I can't see Barnes coming here - he'll go to a good team.

Brewer, Childress or Morrow - I could totally see and be happy with any of them being a piece on our team.

I really can't see it being Barnes. Going from a contender to a crappy team.

Money talks. Orlando fans seem resigned to the fact they won't be able to keep him. Now if we offer more than other teams why wouldn't he want to come here? We aren't talking about Ron Artest who has made his money, Barnes has been working for this day for a long time.

Money talks to an extent. But I doubt we're the only one considering adding him for that price tag and we're probably one of the lesser desirable options.

I like our core but I'm with HP on this for the first time in a long time and even if you're more optimistic than I am that one of DD, ED and AB are top 20 NBA talents someday I don't see why so many of you wouldn't want a crack at another in the draft.

The other side of this is that if BC can secure picks back from whoever ends up with Chris, you can try to be as good as possible and still have a high pick. He seems to be steering Chris to Houston, who would hand over NYK's unprotected 1st in any deal - which could easily be top 3. Best of both worlds.

I think Childress can do better than a full MLE. Barnes I agree. Morrow would be interesting because GSW might be wary of taking on another significant contract.

Man am I getting tired of all this speculation, wish for something happen and soon.

Also, once again nothing insightful or insider or remotely interesting provided by our favorite grunt. Seriously, he has provided absolutely nothing to talk or read about during what was suppose to be the most exciting off season in Raptors history.

He has given us little in regards to the Bosh situation

Provided zero insight into the draft.

Now he's telling us that we are close to signing a FA via the MLE. Wow, close could be days, weeks, possibly a month. Way to go out on a limb Dougie and give us that killer insider information we all crave.

Morrow doesnt address defense though and from the start of the season BC has said he wants defense. I think Childress or Brewer are the more likely options.

2 expiring vets that help now. A young big to add to the Scottie timeline
I'd prefer to keep Stew and give Monte Morris
I'd really prefer to keep Morris and Stew and give the great Killian Hayes and 2nd round picks

Brewer would be great here IMO. Elite defender and can teach the young'ns a thing or two about on court effort.

Alfred wrote:This is who I want in decending order:

Anthony Morrow: Unbelievable 3 point shooter on good volume, decent rebounder, only 24. Top of the list.
Ronnie Brewer: Elite defender, until this past season a very good finisher at the basket, also 24. Can't really create his own shot, poor outside shooter as well.
JJ Redick: Can do a bit of everything, can shoot the three, pass, create his own shot and his defense is pretty good as well. 25 years old.
Josh Childress: One of the best finishers in the NBA at the 2 guard spot. Good rebounder, decent defender. He's 26.

I think Morrow would be good as well.

I'm hoping it's one of:

Ronnie Brewer
Anthony Morrow
Travis Outlaw
Matt Barnes

Those would be my top targets. Brewer brings that grit on D that we desperately need. Morrow has the 3 pt shooting that we have seriously lacked since the departure of our sharpshooters. Outlaw brings more athleticism and is more under the radar. Barnes brings some fire to a team that seriously lacks it. Overall, any one of these I'd be fine with. I wouldn't mind getting Gomes, but NOT for the the full MLE (or large portion of it).

it probably be a little lower, the cap is projected to go down, and the MLE is a percentage of the cap. the cap is probably going to be around 56 million and i would assume the mle comes in around 5.5
