If the Melo trade goes down, and considering it would leave NJ without a real starting PG, and considering Aron Afflalo is now supposedly included in the trade, going to NJ (so they have lots of wing depth), would you trade Jarrett Jack to New Jersey for Terrence Williams and Kris Humphries? Kris is expiring. And if it's Afflalo + Humphries do you do it, Afflalo being a pretty solid defender.

Pros - Williams is a nice prospect, Afflalo would help our defence, Humphries represents cap relief next summer and would be add to the pile of expirings we could trade this year.

Cons - Losing JJ's leadership. Marcus Banks becomes a full time backup unless you want to trust the suspect point guard skills and defense of Barbosa.

Its interesting not sure about getting Hump back in a already filled big situation.
Losing Jack would make me lose sleep because Barbosa could fill the minutes easily he is similar to jack but better offensively and you know Jacks defense stinks.
Jack as the leader I see that mostly self appointed and more to do with Weems, Amir and DD which could cause problems. I see Klieza as the leader simply because he can easily bridge any gap between the American & Non American players. We get 2 players and give up one plus it still complicates our PGs and SG situation. Far from the worst trade.

It would indeed be tough to lose JJ but I would do this trade as we would have another expiring and a young player in TWill/Afflalo. If Raps were looking to make a splash in FA next year, this would free up more space. If this is truly a rebuild year, it is a good idea.

I would do both those proposed deals. Afflalo would be a solid defensive piece to put in place going forward. I'd prefer Williams who I feel has a much higher ceiling with his combination of athleticism/playmaking/defensive ability, but I'd settle for Afflalo as well.

Trade 1:

Toronto in:
Ellis
Brandon Wright

Warriors in:
Calderon
Weems
TPE
Miami's Pick

Warriors do it to get a good point guard to play along side of Curry. Curry could be the focal point of the warriors offense. Calderon is a Don Nelson type of shooter I mean player, and he's fast. Weems is a very cheap high flyyyyyyer looking to get paid in the following season. And they get the Bosh TPE. Calderon isn't as bad as some of you think. He has good value to him. If the warriors don't pay him the Raps can pick him up.

Trade 2:

Toronto In:
Haywood

Mavs in:
Reggie Evans
Banks

We finally get a center. Mavs do it because they have Chandler..

After the trade Raps look like this:

Haywood/ Ed Davis
Bargnani/ Amir
Kleiza/ J. Wright
Derozan/ Barbosa
Ellis/ Jack

Minesotta gives the starting role to rubio and have Sonny replacing brewer with the TPE.

Denver doesn't want to do the 4-team trade because they'd be getting an extra $4.8M in salary($9.6M for the luxury tax). It sounds crazy, but how about we get in on it to help them out. I believe everyone except Billups and Lawson are available.

Nets gets:
Carmelo

Bobcats get:
Harris

Jazz get:
Diaw
D.Anderon(early termination) + cash from the rockets trade

Nuggets get:
AK47(expire),
Favours
Evans(expire)
Banks(expire),
2 Nets First rounder,
Bobcats 1st rounder, 2nd rounder
2 Raptors 1st rounder
Henderson***

Raptors get:
Nene,
Balkman,
JR Smith***

***Only if the Nuggets want to trade JR

In this scenario, Nuggets will save money(under the tax by about $2.9M)

I know Toronto would get a lot, but it's an incentive for helping out with the trade.

with Randolph not getting anywhere with an extension with Memphis I wonder if a Jose for Randolph deal could work

either as a straight up with TPE or with a 3rd team

I still think Memphis would be the best fit for Jose and sell them on the connection to Gasol and as a distributer and spot up shooter to go next to Melo and Gay.

This years FA class doesn't offer to many options for PGs and a combo of Jose and Lowery would be pretty solid.

Just need to figure out a way of getting Conley included coming to the Raps

How does Toronto get a lot for trading 2 first round picks, one of which is probably really high this year? How do the Nuggets get 5 first round picks, 1 second round pick, Derrick Favors, and like 25 million in expiring contracts for Melo? That is insane. Denver would have 4 first round picks this season, and two second round picks, including their own, and three in 1st round picks in 2 years. And the 3rd overall pick from this years draft. Why do you think that could possibly happen?

I wouldn't mind seeing a trade with the Kings. Something like:

Calderon
Banks
Evans

for

Dalembert
Udrih

Why for TO? We get a shot blocking C to play next to Bargs and we also get a big expiring. Udrih is a downgrade from Calderon but costs less, and will end the debate on who starts.

Why for Kings? With the drafting of Cousins, they have a glut of bigs up front. They save a couple of million in the deal and also get an upgrade at point.

I'm sure the team loves JJ as a teammate but we'd have to pull the trigger if it NETted us TWill. I also think as a backup pg TWill could be better then Barbosa.

I've noticed that a lot of these trades are far-fetched and lopsided...ha.

What would it take to get a lineup like this next year?
Or is it even possible?

Rubio/Jose/Barbosa
Derozen/Weems/Barbosa
Kleiza/Wright/Dupree
Barg/Amir/Dorsey
Gosal/Damp*/Alabi/Andersen

*If Damp signs a two year deal this season....

S&T for Gosal....
Mem gets TPE, 1st and 2nd round pick
Toronto gets Gosel

Min....
Jack & Davis and 1st round (mia) goes to Min
Tor gets Rubio

The answer is no and why you would give Dampier a 2 year contract?

Lets say that the CBA remains the same to get Gasol assuming that Memphis doesn't match will be about 13.5 million. Our current salary is in the 63million range and we have expirings of about 15 million in Banks, Evans, Anderson, Dorsey and Wright. Weems is a expiring but assuming he imprives this year he will be resigned. So we would have enough cap space to add Gasol.

Rubio will be harder not from a financial situation but Kahn basically has put his job on the line that Rubio will play in Minny. So unless we offered a great package I don't think he will bite or unless Rubio states that he will never play for the T Wolves which to date he hasn't. What would it take maybe our 1st and Davis. At that time even if it is possible you must look at what we could get for our 1st in the draft and how Davis looks this year.

On trading Jack I haven't a problem we need to get rid of either Jack, Jose or Barbosa but can't see how it fits into your trade.

I hate NYK fans but they need Curry in any hopes of Melo
This is better Chandler for Evans and Miami 1st
