I thought he was our best/2nd best player last night yet he only got 35 minutes? We have 3 days rest so I'm wondering if Casey doesn't think he has the stamina to go longer than this? Heck DJ played 45 mins yesterday as did Marc. Playoffs are for shortening your rotation and playing your main guys longer minutes.

JV was visibly gassed out there. I think it was due to him being too excited his first PO appearance, and going 200% earlier on in the game, leaving him really tired by the 3rd quarter.

He looked completely exhausted in the 4th

Val has been good defensively. Not as good as Amir but thats to be expected. Its not JV's fault our guards cant contain dribble penetration. A 21 year old sophomore playing in his first playoffs can only do so much.

I completely agree.. I feel like he gets unnecessary blame for our bad defense.. but i'm only suggesting a small lineup with amir at 5 instead of JV b/c Amir is by far our best help defender.. he covers for so many people. I'm not saying we have to use it all the time but in spurts.

I wonder what Masai will say to the crowd for Game 2. I wish we had him since 1995, our team would've been amazing.

Is Fields healthy?

I hate to say take Amir out of the starting lineup, but Fields seems like the only one that he can keep up with JJ and Pierce comfortably.

Lowry, DeRozan, Ross, Fields, Val

He can possibly be our only guy that can keep up with their starting lineup when they need to switch on PnR and what not.

yeah, they should put ross on pierce... he needs someone in his face at all times... that being said, i'm sure the refs will give pierce some ticky tacks and rosss will again be out of the game...

ross can't control what the refs do. if the refs want ross in foul trouble, by golly they'll get him in foul trouble.
Casey sitting him on the bench with four isn't because of the refs, it's because deep down Casey wants nothing more than for Ross to be glued to the bench in favor of the "heart and soul" that John Salmons brings. Such a "gritty veteran" that just "knows how to get the job done".

Is the game at 8 or 7:30 ? My ticket says 8 but tv schedule says 7:30 now
"We're like Tim Duncan and David Robinson," Villanueva said, following the team's morning shootaround at the America West Arena. "But a younger version. I really feel that."

To be fair we can be annoying to. I never understood the fanbase on here being so arrogant and going on other boards. Stay humble and just take it a game at a time. I dont give a **** what the Nets fans think. Clippers lost game 1 at home, is it over for them? Indiana lost at home to the worst playoff team, is it over for them?

Are you sure that was the stat? The stat I saw said the teams that win the 1st game win the 7th game (if it goes to 7 games) 70 something percent of the time.

Hmm. Maybe I misheard? I could have sworn them saying teams that win the first game have a 71 or 72 percent chance of winning the series. I could be wrong though.

I think Lowry, Patterson and Vasquez was doing the right thing, in that... they were spot up 3 point shooting, Raptors are good at that and Nets are bad at defending that all season. The Raptors could use someone like Novak (if he is actually hitting shots), but the issue is that he would have to guard someone like Johnson or Pierce, dunno if we want that. Demar was also doing that but he forced it even at a time where Livingston not only had 2 arms up but was chest to chest and Demar still chucked it badly. He needs to start coming off screens for his mid ranges, Ross does this now (which is why we need him on the floor more than Demar), but ISO Demar is going to hurt him and the Raptors.

Like I said the players were inexperienced and the players didnt know how to adjust on the fly. Game 2 will be a lot different.
