Is that a Muggsy Bogues sighting at about the 0:27 mark?

If so, anyone know what he's doing there?

First thing I noticed, I have no clue why he had such trouble last year with this aspect.

JVs press conference after the game (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sGEWgQV8vNg) transcribed:

JV: It was a tough game. They shot threes very well , we were often late on the defensive end to cover up their threes, also on their cuts to the basket. I think we played pretty solidly and won because of that. We successfully ran a lot of different plays, however we still need to polish them, especially me since I sometimes get lost, but I think that we have enough time for me to polish them.

Q: We have asked the other PFs "Who is the most suitable C for you to play with in this team", so now we ask you: "Who is the most suitable PF for you to pair up?"

JV: It's hard to tell, I've only played one game. We will see. I don't know, I play basketball with all of them. The goal is the same, you have to put the ball in the basket, you play, you try hard, you set screens, you pass the ball, you do what you have to do. I don't know, I don't single out one of them.

Q: JV, do you sleep well now after coming back from Canada? (I assume he means jet lag)

JV: I sleep just fine, thanks!

Q: What did you and Mugsy Bogues talk about after the game?

JV: Nothing much, he just asked me when I'm coming back to Toronto, what are my plans, etc.

Q: Did he invite you to train together?

JV: What?

Q: DID HE INVITE YOU TO TRAIN TOGETHER? (laughs at his stupid joke)

JV: (gives him a "are you **** serious" look and takes a couple seconds to think of something witty). Well, he does not really train anymore.. (crowd laughs).

Q: JV, our coach said that this year you look much quicker/faster. Is that true, did you really gain some speed/quickness?

JV: I don't know, that's what I worked for, to be able to be more active on my feet, so that I can move, so that I can be there in time. Of course, it's my first serious game in a while so it took a lot of energy, I was really tired in the end of the game, I need to re-enter this rhythm of competitive play. I don't think that will be a problem.

Q: Your leg, no problem?

JV: No, no, I just had a small cramp in the end of the game, nothing serious.

Q: I saw that our bench was having a good time there as someone was telling stories to you, what did they say?

JV: *Laughs heartily*. I cannot tell you! You can tell from the pictures that it was really funny though. *Smiles cheekily*.

Has that coach ever said anything positive about JV?
I feel every time I have read his quotes they have been negative, downgrading NBA play almost.

He's a harsh critic - probably because he's the Lithuanian doppelganger of Roger Ebert. Nevertheless, today's performance gets a thumbs up.

I am not sure most people realize that the quotes that were so vigorously quoted a couple days ago that went along the lines of "JVs coach liked him more before the NBA" were NOT made by the NT coach Kazlauskas. It was by a random Lithuanian coach Kurtinaitis, who has 0 to do with the NT, who used to coach Jonas when Jonas was like 17-18.

The NT coach Kazlauskas has so far praised JV this year, saying that he is much quicker than before and that he is an absolute key to the team (that was said before the game with Finland even).

And even then, those quotes by this other coach, Kurtinaitis, were also misinterpreted - he did not knock on NBA or JV, he said that young JV had a style which was more suited for European basketball and now he is naturally moving towards a style that is more suited to NBA because, based more on power and athleticism. Then he simply stated that since he coaches in Europe, he liked the earlier JV more, but that it's very normal and good that JV is moving towards the NBA style since obviously that's where he will spend the rest of his basketball career.

After last summer, where NT's coach Kazlauskas said that JV has been slow, etc. (which was true at the time, it was just hard to accept it) there seems to still be some strange discontent with all things Lithuanian. We are not so bad guys :)
