Can I ask the reason you got tested? Any symptoms or were you in an area with someone who did have covid?

My dad got tested because someone had it at his workplace and he tested positive on Sunday. I've been in contact with my dad and also had a bit of a cough too so I got tested. Still no results

Better than some places in the US were it can take over a week, lol.

Some testing sites are telling us it can take up to 4 days for results.

When I had my test in July, results were literally the next day. Not to mention, zero wait.

Ontario now has a backlog of 54,759 and I'm not surprised results are taking longer. Ontario alone is like testing almost as much as Canada combined right now.

My kid got tested in July and it is exactly as you said.

Last week we got the kid tested again (schools really are Petrie dishes for germs) and it took almost 4 full days.

Hope your dad gets passed this. Positive vibes for you too.

They're different types of viruses so it's technically possible.

I linked to the Reddit comments, in case someone thinks the study was a hoax (there are hundreds of people posting about their issues in there).

Maybe not for everyday things that impact everyone, but some industries and the WFH crowd have definitely come out on top.

I'm not on the conspiracy theory bandwagon so its just an unfortunate situation and yes...the makers of PPE and vaccines are winning big...but I'm sure they would rather not given all that has happened.

Grocery stores are killing it too.

Yep. A family member went to Costco yesterday and said toilet paper and other essentials were emptied out with holiday-level lineups at checkout.

Mini-Trump says it isn't time to revert to stage 2 yet. Love the reactionary leadership. It'll be time when **** hits the fan. But not a moment sooner.

Ontario needs to stop testing so much to keep the positive cases down!

Two weeks ago Ontario was sitting pretty with 39(Sept 13) hospitalizations.

Fast forward to today? 150 hospitalized.

Here in Newfoundland our first wave back in March occurred when one person brought the virus into a funeral home, infecting the majority of attendees. This was before precautions were put into place. Once the domino effect had concluded, I believe the final case tally linked to that incident was around 170. To put that into perspective, our total cases to date is somewhere around 270. It goes to show what a concentrated dose of the virus can do without safety precautions.

Since then and after moving through various stages of lock-down, we're pretty much back to normal other than mandatory masks in indoor public places and occupancy limitations in some stores.

Masks seem to be the difference maker. We're getting around 1 case per week of late, all of which are travel related and none of those cases have been spreading other than to a family member on occasion. So these infected folk have been taking flights here without passing the virus along to anyone during their travels.

My friend got tested and got a call saying he tested positive. He asked the doctor that called him how many of these calls she has to make and she said just over 100. That was just in one day at one testing location.

-Documents reveal details of Ontario police misuse of COVID-19 database

https://theccf.ca/release-documents-reveal-details-of-police-misuse-of-covid-19-database/

The letter outlined the following ways that police services had misused the portal:

“Conducting broad-based municipal searches without a specific address, including conducting broad-based searches using only postal codes ”
“Conducting broad-based municipal searches of another municipality. It is unknown why a member would conduct a broad-based search of a municipality outside their service area, or even their mutual aid partners.”
“Conducting searches of a specific name that is not related to an active call for service.”

Previous reports show that Ontario police services conducted over 95,000 searches of the database while it was active. Over 40 per cent of those searches were conducted either by the Thunder Bay Police Service or Durham Region Police Service.
