One constant about this forum is the ability to equate good play with mainly efficiency of shooting. Everything else doesnt matter. FVV played last night like he has all yr.

I agree he’s been the best player all season.

Thank you!!! That's all people care about on here. Yes being efficient is great but there's so much more to the game than just that. Fred has BEEN playing like this. It's just some nights the shots fall like last night and some nights they don't like against Boston.

He's going to have 6-7 games a year where you wonder how he's even in a NBA game, he's going to have another 6-7 games where you want to wrap your hands around his throat and watch the lights go out, the rest of the time I'm glad he's a Raptor.

38.6 MIN, 19.7 PPG, 7.1 AST, 5.1 REB, 1.5 STL, 43.5 FG, 39.6 3PT, 83.3 FT, .557 TS, 22.6 USG

Those are allstar type numbers, especially when you also factor in that he's one of the best defenders at his position.

I disagree. He gave the ball up more willingly and didn't force his offense as much.

Tied his season high in FGs, 25.9 usage. Average time of possession was 8 seconds (6.9 on the year). 97 touches (84.7/year). 4.55 dribbles/touch (4.55 on the year). 66 passes/ 60 on the year. Considering he played two extra minutes than average, it looks like he either held onto the ball more or an inconsequential amount.

Philly's defense was trash, though, so I'm sure he looked better because of that. Curry and Maxey are bbq chicken for guards that know what they're doing.

There are two big shot takers on this team - FVV and GTJr. You can run action off Pascal and OG that if they're wide open do it but in crunch time they want to take the big shot - hit or miss. FVV always plays like that and it's not really quantifiable but you want that on your team.

Like Lowry brings so much to a team that stats just don't show. FVV will never be a great passer but still he's crucial to this team.

Some people forget that that at age 27 Lowry was competing with Calderon for the starting job here.

At age 27, Fred is averaging 19, 7 and 5 on solid shooting splits with elite on ball defense. Is he perfect? No. Is he frustrating at times? Yes. But this is his first month as a legit starting point guard running an offense, let's give it time.

FVV is currently 11th in the NBA for assists.

19 teams in the NBA don't have a QB as effective as FVV.
The good thing about BI is he can shoot over defenders.
The bad thing about BI is he can shoot over defenders.

He's been an all star so far. I hope he gets there.

FVV has been excellent so far this season. And he will continue to improve his playmaking once our roles get more defined on this team

Stats don't matter on this board anymore. The only things that matter are the eye test of posters who are blinded by their own bias and Scottie playing +36 MPG with a +30 USG% so he can get ROTY (which is ironic because of the FVV bashing when he said he wants more accolades).

He's an allstar guard, but this team desperately needs another good-great ball-handler who can penetrate and make space.

I'll be the bad guy and say it.

He's the perfect candidate to swindle to another team as he's more highly regarded than his actual output. Pretty much (and I liked him) DeRozan. Lowry was the opposite. The Heat LOVE him and he's the engine that makes them go, but his stats are trash.

If Fred can net you a player who is better than him, or has more potential, you do it.

Boston was obviously rough game....but even there....we scored 10 points directly from turnovers caused by Fred. He wasn't credited with all the caused TOs and assists....but they were clearly that. In all 5 plays.....he disrupted offense, grabbed ball, started break, we scored.

Last year advanced stats had Fred as a top 20 player, some had him as a top 10 player. 538 put his market salary @ 35M this year. If anything, he's underrated.

Fred's the main engine of this team and the main reason we have a winning record. The only reason to trade him would be to tank which seems extremely short-sighted and premature.

Just wish we could find ways to have him play off the ball more without having to resort to 2 PG lineups. Maybe that will come when Barnes gets more experiences and gets to be more initiative and aggressive.
