FRP for Hart?! Oh hell no lol

This board loves mediocre role players, there's a reason NOP are saying they're looking for a SG (ie/ what Hart is lol because he's not that great) and JV?! You can't be serious lol he'd singlehandedly kill our defence as he did when he was here. He has cinderblocks for feet. About the only player I'd want (besides Ingram ofc) would be NAW, if not the rest is pretty trash.

I'd be ok with Bogi, LeVert or HBarnes if they had more than just one season left after this season but they don't so it's just a waste. Unless we can get ANY of the aforementioned names for Goran + 2nds, then do not want. I'd focus on some younger talent like Bamba who's also a RFA we can control or Boucher for Jalen Smith type of deal.

I got no intel, just my gut feeling. We're getting JV back. Masai and Pops has a good relationship and Masai is going to do Pops a solid for gifting us a championship. Expect a deal to be done.

No one even knew he was available...but my guess would be NAW.

We don't have a "Norm" type player available but I'd definitely try flipping a 1st for him and unlike Gary, being a hometown kid he'd probably gladly commit long term.

I think Gallo trade is possible now with the tax announced 2M higher if my math is right, as we could cut him and still just sneak in Boucher at 10M and the non-tax MLE for 10M. Or we keep Gallo if Boucher goes and only use 6M of the MLE and look to move Gallo during the season or summer, or maybe we can move Birch for a minimum player by giving up a 2nd and use the whole non-tax MLE.

If the Pels deal Hart for a 1st and expiring to some other team, this might work:

Raptors: NAW, Satoransky, Lakers minimum guy
Pelicans: Dragic, Lakers minimum guy
Lakers: Temple

We get NAW and keep about 20M under the tax for Boucher and the non-tax MLE on a guard or a 5

Pelicans save 10M in cap space which along with the Hart deal gets them 20M in cap space

Lakers get an older wing who might be washed, but it only costs them their 2 worst players of their choice and paying Temple like 2.4M more than a minimum wing next year

I like Claxton's upside but I don't think he moves the needle this season. A bit redundant with Precious given they are both still learning the C position and need minutes to do so

if we do grab a C I think we lean on experience for a playoff run, and have someone Precious can play behind & learn from

I don't love Poetle but it makes sense. I like Myles but the price is too high. hopefully there's someone else under the radar we aren't thinking about

We're just re-starting, Masai even said publicly that this is a "year of development" so a player like Claxton, Bamba, Smith etc would make perfect sense. There's no rush to contend this year.

It's hilarious how so many of you say how important it is for young guys to "get Playoff experience" but then when they need it, want to make impatient moves for minimal difference in the short term when we should be thinking long term.

Ya ^ no reason to make short sighted moves.

This is masai’s chance to now do his own rebuild (even though hes such a good gm hes been drafting and developing as we were winning during kyles years ie. fred siakam og norm/trent)

We are only targeting guys that meets current age of this core and timeline. And we arent giving up draft assets THIS YEAR.

Gonna be another under the radar move
