The Bucks were the dark horse team I was thinking were a possible fit for Lillard. It came down to Portland willing to take Holiday back as an asset to move him which makes me think our offer did not blow them out of the water either or they were unwilling to move him to a team that Lillard didn't want to go to.

Anyone check on JRoy? He is also not sold on Scoot. What an awful summer for him.

As much as it sucks the a conference competitor got him, I am just so delighted that neither the Heat nor Dame got their way.

Right lol. Wanting to live in Miami and getting sent to Milwaukee instead lol. Faaaaaiiiilll

I don’t think we’re interested otherwise this would have been done
2019 Eastern Conference All Stars

Derozan
Lowry
Ibaka
Valanciunas
Van Vleet
Delon Wright
Lebron
Embiid

There are only 2 teams in the league that rank in the top 6 in offensive and defensive efficiency: the Golden State Warriors and the Toronto Raptors.

Back to the Kobe Bufkin rumors? What a letdown. In the end, this was the better result for the Raps. Force change!

Not sure why anyone’s celebrating the Bucks making the deal, they’ll probably run the East for several years from this. I hate Riley too but the Heat have won fewer titles in the past 10 years and their stars are ancient.

lol maybe Masai didn't want to give up the pick

That’s my going theory. There is no way our package wasn’t better than this.

ya I think Portland gave him the last choice.....but out of spite they said you can't pick Miami. He saw a superstar in Giannis so that was a no brainer, still gives him a legit chance to win a championship.

Brutal trade for the bucks.

Lillard is 33 this season they’re gonna pay him 46 mill then age 34 its 49 mill
Age 35- 59 million and lastly he’s gonna opt in for 63 million at age 36.

Lillard has missed over 70 games the last 2 years, is getting older and plays no defence. This is a terrible trade

DG88 wrote:My guess is that the FO didn't think Lillard was good enough to vault them up enough to compete for a championship. I don't blame them. People were on the forum stating that this was just like the Kawhi trade, when it clearly wasn't. Kawhi was a FMVP, DPOY and top 3 in MVP for multiple years. He accomplished much more plus we got Danny Green.

The one thing that this trade did do is take Giannis off the market. As much as the FO doesn't want to play the lotto they might just end up going there anyways.

Or more likely the choice wasn't theirs to make, it was PDX's decision.

Does OG even want to be part of the Raptors moving forward since he was rumoured to be the main piece for Lillard. Is he a goner?

Lol, 1 week ago nobody even thought we were even in consideration for Lillard and now half this board wants to fire management.

Unreal.

Not sure if that's true. I think Dame trade was the win-now move that they had to keep their powder dry for. With that off the table they may pivot.

Siakam obviously knew he was being shopped also otherwise his agent doesn't leak what we did.

Even more awkward for Herro when he's been on the table for months.

I'd wonder if the Heat even want to deal with the Blazers after essentially being ignored regarding Dame.

Return to Toronto Raptors
