When Pascal's volume is low, it's because he can't go into the paint against a true 7 footer. When Scottie's volume is low, it's because everyone else took all the shots. Barnes/OG and Lavine would make for a very good offence, he is one year younger then Siakam and gives us that explosive SG this team needs

OG is showing that his defence and 3 point shooting is way too valuable. Siakam and Barnes will always be overlaps and that is never going to change. You can keep Yak on the floor longer with Lavine minus Siakam

Caruso's defence in the post was excellent during that horrific loss earlier this season. He's like prime Lowry in that he can give up 5 inches in the post and is still better than someone closer in height. In Lowry's case it was core (ass) strength, whereas with Caruso it's that if the ball is near him he might get a hand on it.

Agreed. Plus the league is soft now. Caruso is smart enough to exploit that.

If Lavine was already on the Raptors they still would not be contenders.

It's hard to think Lavine could turn any team from play-in into a championship contender but we'd be a lot better for sure.

Lavine provides us exactly what we're weak at and his weakness is already our strength so it wouldn't hurt us as bad. Sometimes a fit is more important than the player's skill level itself.

I don't really know how you parse between Stoudamire, Calderon and Schroeder. They were all basically exactly the same level of player (Damon's raw stats better because his teammates couldn't create anything) but if Schroeder's 3pt shooting regresses to 34% or so I'd guess that he'll be #3 (or #4 if you prefer Stoudamire, who did later start for good Portland teams) behind Calderon for his strengths (shooting, incredible A/TO) over Dennis' (driving, not good on defence but better than Calderon), particularly on this team where we have defenders but could use more shooting.
