Pascal is quiet quitting on defense. On a new team he'll be good. Same deal as OG. I dont think they respect Darko as much as Nurse. ( Although Siakam butted heads with Nurse he still respected him) Darko doesn't seem like he demands great effort on D from the team like Nurse either. Nurse would bench players or flip out for not contesting, putting in effort or even missed coverage.

15-24. Siakam is not impacting winning as much as some here believe. Too risky to do nothing.

i mean, you could of said the same about og but then look at what happened in ny. I do think tho outside of shot making his game is hurting us. We are hiding him on defense when he could be guarding quicker guys and he doesn't play help defense or help rebound.

Pascal was getting blown by so much, he can't guard quicker guys.

And the other game watched as his man shot 7 three pointers over him.

Not a good combo on defense...lol.

Also I hope Isiah Jackson is one of the pieces. This guy is like Robert Williams with more offense and lesss injury prone. I know everyone wants Walker or Mathurin. Not sure Mathurin is what we need.

We don’t have a track record of doing that, and just hired a “developmental” coach. Plus, in a scenario where he develops, he’s a perfect fit next to Scottie. I just don’t see this happening.

There's likely some sort of history between Woj and Pacers president Kevin Pritchard. There's been several articles written that detailed its Woj's MO to colour his coverage favourably when it comes to his exec friends in the league. A recent example was former blazers GM Neil Olshey where Woj was going out of his way to put a positive spin on his terrible management of the blazers and distorting the coverage of his dismisal.

Seemed obvious what his slant was during the Pacers tournament run in December with the way he was gushing about the Pacers future and how players would be rushing to play next to Haliburton.

Woj loves Masai, too. I think the Pacers are leverage here. Masai isn't going to trade with that clown, and Pascal isn't going to sign there. He's going to go to Dallas or some mystery team.

I've wanted him traded for a year, but I have to agree. It's actually quite shocking, and disappointing. Siakam is as classy and humble as they come. He never became that bonafide #1 guy but it's not for lack of trying.

Take what you can get at this point, and just move on.

How exactly? they are paying him Max deal as we are realgm'ing rigth now.
They have had high expectations for him and we have not won a playoff round in 2+ years.

We don’t have a track record of doing that, and just hired a “developmental” coach. Plus, in a scenario where he develops, he’s a perfect fit next to Scottie. I just don’t see this happening.

There’s also a scenario where Gradey’s value is only going to go down more and more, and he is out of the league after his rookie deal. It’s certainly possible he could be included in the deal, and granted as a prospect upgrade.

Dont worry about that, the entire league knows how bad of man Siakam has been. None of teams are after his 3s.

Masai had all the power with Pascal at last year’s deadline. Would have got a king’s ransom.

I hope this year was worth it!

I really don't know what they were thinking. It's not like they didn't know he was not a super max type player last season. If there were not going to re-sign him to a max deal last offeason, they should have traded him and FVV last deadline. This FO has made so many questionable decisions since 2019.
