This is basic ribbon cutting procedure. It shows the support of all levels of government and that the expansion is treated as a big deal. Nothing more to it than that

That. And it sounds as if the various governments had some direct involvement, however small. The Coca Cola arena is owned by the city, partners were recruited in Montreal and Vancouver. The U of T was brought on board. Groups CH in Montreal owns the NHL Canadians and the Bell Centre.

Once again this is amazing. As a youth trainer & coach, I enjoy girls ball a lot more than the young boys. The young ladies listen & just wanna learn & play the right way growing up. The young boys think they’re their fav player right away…
From a grassroots standpoint, I hope this energizes youth ball in the city & country

So Kia Nurse (is a UFA after this season) will sign a 1 yr contract with any team next season, then obviously ink with Toronto for 2026.
