It probably lands you in the mid lottery 6-9 range in the low 30s and 10-13 range in the high 30s.

The lack of roster improvement looks deliberate. Our bench will be bad again this year. But, is it possible that BBQ is good enough to get us to 7th or 8th best roster in the East? Possible for sure in my opinion with good health. Losing any one of BBQ or Poeltl really makes it tough for us to win games, however. That, and I'm sure there will be an emphasis by Masai to Darko on developing Dick and the rookies. But, certainly possible that Scottie comes back a big time player, sure fire all start and RJ and Quick are in the next tiers. If say Quick develops into a prime Jason Terry type player, and RJ a prime Richard Jefferson type player, along with Poeltl, that is a solid starting 5. Stick Brown in there on a contract year, and Dick and Kelly off the bench with Davion, we might not be terrible if we play to win. That's the optimistic view point right there anyways.

I said it in the over under thread but we could literally be in the play in and still have the 8th best lottery odds

Ya there are some teams you just can’t out tank. But I’ll take a play in run plus those odds any day. Hell look at Atlanta this past draft.

I agree think that’s the calculus.

A January pivot to tank, but even then, we are not catching the bottom 5. We’ll be around 7-10, hopefully closer to 6-7 and let the lotto work its magic.

We’ll also look for a late 1st from one of the contenders. 2 shots in the 1st round this year should be the target.

I’m hoping Andrew Wiggins becomes available…can imagine a deal like Bruce Brown + POR 2nd for Wiggins and GSW 1st.

Even though he will inevitably be a big riser in the mocks, a prospect like Collin Murray-Boyles being ranked 23rd in ESPNs early mock suggests that this is a deep draft too, not just strong at the top.

He's not a perfect fit given RJ is better at the 2 than the 3, but VJ Edgecomb is the guy we need and the 2nd best player in this draft imo.

As much as I'm inclined to discount him because of his size for a shooting guard every time I watch him play I see a future star. He's so quick, explosive, and athletic; attacks the rim with ferocity and power, and defends like a dawg, and he adds on top of all that a smooth, projectable jumper. He reminds me of Dwayne Wade so much.

Malauch looked good on offense today, defensively he's got work to do.

That Detroit 2nd rounder is going to be a valuable piece over the next year.
That might be where we find our Bigman of the future. Unless Chomche really hits his stride. Although, I feel like Chomche’s eventual role could be at the 4. He seems to have the foot speed on D to guard the position.

Dets 2nd was used in yrs draft with Mogbo. We have Portlands 2nd next yr along with Indy's first in 26.

Illinois is going to be must watch for those interested in 2025. Will Riley and Kasparas is an incredible freshman haul.
