Never forget: "we need to trade Siakam for AJ Griffin before it's too late!"

I will not include the poster's name to save him from eternal shame and embarrassment. However I have not seen that person come into the thread to apologize to Siakam.

Yeah one of the funniest parts about this entire saga is the complaining of the packages we did not get. From my recollection it was:

POR - Shaedon Sharpe?
ATL - AJ Griffin + Kobe Bufkin
IND - Jarace Walker, Mathurin, Nembhard,
SAC - Keegan Murray
GSW - Kuminga / Moody

And we ended up with Ingram / Walter / Agbaji

It is not a stretch to say we actually ended up with the best possible package anyways based on the limited reporting. Imagine if we had taken the ATL offer. Yuck.

That's why all the complaining about "we should have traded them sooner" ends up funny too. Trade him earlier for a worse deal?

Same with OG....NY wanted to just give us crap picks the year before.

And of course "Masai over rates his own players in trade talks" ties into this laughter too. I am GLAD he values our guys. But then once traded and they play well on other teams, the complaints start about how they should have kept guys.

It's like unless Masai got a gross overpayment like a Rudy deal, he gets slammed. He has done a very good job the last 1.5 years reshaping the team and building depth ready to take a jump up the standings. And trading Siakam was part of those steps.

You and I both know that was a joke post and not meant to be serious. There should be no question among all raptor fans that the greatest raptor of all time is Lowry. That's not up for debate. To think otherwise would be ridiculous. Who would think otherwise?

i think the biggest rumor was #7 and hart for og. iq/rj is a good return. iq's just been hurt alot. hart wouldve been bad here imho.

the pascal deal was an outlier to masai's MO because we did not get any real talent in return but masai was able to flip that deal into real legit talent within a year.

Yeah it is easy to say we missed on grabbing HArt but Hart when he was in POR was not valued like he is now. That 2022/23 Raps team wouldn't have been any better with Hart/Sharpe instead of OG, and I am taking IQ/RJ/Mogbo > Sharpe/Hart still.

The one partner I was looking at for OG was the Pelicans floating their picks. Masai didn't want a pick package which is why it didn't go anywhere, same as Memphis, but I would have loved getting one of their unprotected Bucks picks at the time and filler (Nance and another bad pick).

You can see why that's looking like the jackpot now.

IIRC, the deal with the Pacers also opened up the cap space to make the deal with the Kings for Davion + #45 + the Portland 2nd. I really liked Davion, although I understand the cap issues preventing us of keeping him. But Ingram / Walter / Agbaji + Shead + #39 is a pretty good return for Pascal.

Oh FFS. They're close friends. Just like Pascal and OG who are battling it out right now in the ECF and aren't exactly playing nicely.

Nope. Pascal and scotty are not close friends.

Pascal and Fred and poetl and norm are close friends.

It's pretty crazy how certain narratives on this board are sanctioned but the actual reality is some sort of eye-popping controversy.

There are literally thousands pf posts on this board saying "Fred only cares about himself" and Noone blinks an eye.

The same guy who is up for player-voted best teammate award and who gets praised repeatedly by his new teammates.

But stating a simple fact: scotty is not well-liked by his former teammates.....THAT illicits reaction.

Scottie was nearly in tears in the post-game interview after Siakam was traded and he has said on more than one occassion that Pascal is his favourite player. Stop making sh*t up because it doesn't fit YOUR narrative.

You guys create drama when you are nowhere near the locker room lol. Pascal was immediately complimentary to Scottie following their first game against Indiana too after he was selected as an all star replacement. Yes there’s a maturity issue with Scottie as a 22/23 year old big surprise. The main issue is really his lack of development as a player lately there’s no need to add on other off court stuff.

He should apologize to Raptors fans for bricking crucial free-throws in that Bulls Play-In Game. He's in fortunate situation with Pacers who have multiple offensive options where defenses don't shift the focus to him but to Hali. He's always been a good Robin for a Batman. Ask Kawhi.

Barkley and Daymond have both emphasised how Pascal has no plays run for him, yet he consistently drops 30.....Chuck and Daymond both recognize that if the Pacers actually run plays for Pascal he'd be averaging way more. They recognize he is a superstar and the spiritual leader of the Pacers....

Unlike many around here
