Re-sign Bieber to a huge contract. Re-sign Scherzer to a 1 year deal if he'll be a reliever; this should limit his innings and keep him fresh. Gotta let Bassitt walk as he should get 1 more 2-3 year contract for $10-15 million per year.

Bieber
Gausman
Lauer
Berrios
Yesavage
Bowden Francis / Ricky Tiedemann / Alek Manoah

Do you think they would keep Yesavage in Buffalo next season, until June to not burn a year of control?

I doubt it honestly. Given how he looked yesterday, he's going to be getting chances the rest of the season, and if that splitter keeps doing what it does, he's going to get innings in the playoffs as well.

Twitter cannot get enough of that splitter from that arm angle. I was watching the Rays broadcast and they could not believe how good that pitch looked. Highest whiff percentage of any debut pitcher (maybe in history according to sportnet).

Even if he loses some command this year, and has struggles like any new pitcher might, that pitch is special.

They were saying that his fastball stays high. Hitters are so used to other fastballs going down a bit, they couldn't even foul off his high fastball.

When he has command of those 2 pitches, it's deadly. Prime Gausman-like.
When he doesn't...he's gonna get rocked. It is what it is. Hopefully he keeps it up after the book is out on him.

They’ll need to do a great job of not letting the Yankees steal their pitches. Those guys are more subtle than Houston was and have been doing it for years.

They should just start a reliever for the 1st inning whenever Scherzer is scheduled to start and bring him in the 2nd... He has an ERA over 12 in the 1st inning this season.

Would it have mattered? The Jays have scored one run or less in 6 out of their last 7 games. Their offense is ice cold. Had Scherzer gave up only 2 runs, they still would have lost the game. They need to wake up and treat all remaining games like they're must-win because if they don't win the Division, I don't like their chances in the wild card spot.

It would have mattered because your accounting for 1 maybe 2 Scherzer starts, I'm talking about his whole season.

I have adjusted my expectations from winning the division and going multiple rounds to winning a single wild card game.

Toronto sports.

Wrong. In the end, it didn't matter. As I said, the Jays needed to win all their remaining games to win the Division and they did. Kudos to them for pulling this one out for an easier path to the World Series because now it's the Yanks & not us to face the Red Sox in a very tough wild card series.

Hope they can ride this momentum to a World Series title.

I'm not wrong... I made a post which only stated that Scherzer has a terrible ERA in 1st innings this season... Which is FACT... He literally has a 12.96 ERA in the 1st inning of games this season... Not sure what you're finding so challenging with that fact?

And obviously they had to treat every game for the past 4 days like a must win, they were tied with the yankees heading into the last 4 games of the season, that's not an earth shattering revelation that you should be patting yourself on the back for.

But then that'll just make his 2nd inning era +12 as well!

I was being sarcastic about having a relief pitcher start the game and Scherzer enter in the 2nd inning.

After scamming America for decades and sending them all our immigrants and fentanyl, we are now attempting to steal America's beloved World Series.

Didn’t see this season coming for the jays, maybe this will be a surprising year for the Raptors too.
