Darko is my favourite coach personality wise the Raptors have ever had. That guy is so much fun. if the raptors ever go on a Jays type run Darko would become a Toronto legend just for his post game speeches.

I always find it interesting to keep track of who is driving winning via Win Shares and will probably start posting it here more often after games if I have time. Win Shares correlate heavily with both Expected W/L and the team's actual record.

Using last season as a recent full season sample off the top of my head, the players combined for a total of 32 win shares, and finished with both expected and actual win totals of 30.

Last night the players combined for 1 Win Share and got the 1st W of the season:

Scottie: 0.3 WS (0.2 oWS/0.1 dWS)
RJ: 0.2 WS (0.1 oWS/0.1 dWS)
Gradey: 0.2 oWS
Ochai: 0.1 dWS
Poeltl and Shead: 0.1 oWS each

Everyone else that played last night had less than 0.05 Win Shares (rounds down to 0 instead of up to 0.1). Ingram was the only guy who was a negative, but it was higher than -0.05 (rounds up to 0 instead of down to -0.1).

Something I find very encouraging is we scored 138 points with arguably our two best scorers having off nights.

Ingram 7/16 - 16 points
Quick 5/12 - 13 points

I also **** talked Dick early in the game cause he looked horrible in his first stretch. Then he absolutely turned it around.

Will be interesting to see how CMB fits in with the team. Hope it's soon.

Yeah. If they want to play like this, that will be the plan. They have the depth & horses to do it too.

I think Darko should stick with it, even if the refs have a quick whistle. I would rather lose a game here and there because of foul trouble/ sus reffing , than take the foot off the gas pedal. You commit to this. Live and die by it. Build the habits. Build the reputation. I disagreed with Alvin on this one during the broadcast.

Just think, we were missing 2 of our top 5 defenders & the our depth and defense still looked amazing.

Deepest Raptors team I have ever seen (in terms of playable players)

Yeah im okay my with the aggressive defense and fouling for now. There was a few bad calls last night but dont think the reffing was that bad, just a result of our play style. Should learn that discipline to not foul with time and hopefully the reputation helps like OKC

Love when the board pushes straight up myths and it becomes perceived facts that eventually get ruined.

1st myth ...rj is a toxic contract and horribly inefficient..RJ passes the eye test of just a baller and a straight dawg. Now that he's improved his play making and outside shot it's a wrap. Haters just gonna clutch on to the lack luster FT shooting in the hopes their narrative will continue and guess what ..it won't.

Another myth?..dick is and will always be the burnt out player he was the 2nd half of the szn..it's the NBA peeps ..guess what...for 82 games u need offense and hes a straight bucket. His ability to shoot opens things up so much out there.

Don’t want to get ahead if myself here but we looked like the 2019 Raptors last night. Everybody was playing smart and making the right play. We looked like contenders.

Other than top 4 spots, East is kind of wide open with injuries, question marks everywhere. But putting up a lot of points against a poor defensive team like Hawks isn't something to get too excited about.

I dont think I saw Scottie try to initiate offense from the 3pt line out this whole game. This is the way he should play. Run the break, play aggressive and be a connector in the halfcourt instead of a primary option. If IQ's shots start falling, we can be really good

I'm starting to see the vision with him on our team, I really hope he puts it together because having an athletic Korver type of player on the team would be crazy.

We look good with BI. We look good without BI. RJ is just a pro. Not super skilled or talented but just keeps grinding and getting better.
The good thing about BI is he can shoot over defenders.
The bad thing about BI is he can shoot over defenders.

I saw an article that said he's day to day and could even play Friday.

Who are the top 4?

I say top 2, Cavs and Knicks. Magic and pistons showed they are much closer to the pack than top 2
