Re: General NBA Discussion Thread
Marc Gasol with 2 rebounds in 31 minutes in a loss to the Wolves. Bargnani much?
obviously not, but I think it's exceedingly obvious that we'd see JV crucified by certain posters had he logged only 2 rebounds in that amount of time, especially in a loss against a poor team.
For what it's worth, Marc only had 3 rebound chances. So by collecting 66.7% of the available rebounds in his vicinity I'd say he did what he was supposed to. Simply goes to show you can't simply say "2 rebounds for a 7 footer? unacceptable, he's Bargnani-like!" There's always more to it than that.

I think I read somewhere that TT makes the Cavaliers elite when he's playing center.
Also, if it's not glaringly obvious that Shabazz Muhammad should be starting, it is even moreso now. I'm not a guy that believes minutes = development, but for the love of god, none of us can stand seeing Tayshaun Prince start anymore.

I think it's pretty close between mitchell and byron scott. Sam Mitchell is running an offense that's stuck 10+ years in the past. Plays for midrange jumpers? Just terrible. Not to mention his jerking around of KAT's minutes.
I actually think the Wolves should take a look at hiring David Blatt.

benched for apparently playing with zero interest and effort. Read from multiple places he was completely outplayed by Aron Baynes.
Also reading that it's been a problem through a number of games. This was the knock on Drummond coming out of UConn - inconsistent effort level, pouts when things don't go his way. All the potential in the world when focused, as we've all seen. Just gotta get it together mentally.
Just goes to show the value of having a proper mentor. Someone like KG would be all over his ass. Wouldn't let him get away with it. KAT's a lucky kid.

No, he's not hurt. He's a baby.
Watch a Pistons game, he has terrible body language, looks annoyed a lot of the time and has poor defensive instincts to begin with.
It's too bad. The guy has the potential to be the most dominant C in the league. There are multiple threads on the Pistons forum about this if you doubt it.

I really don't doubt it. He is a grossly overrated player.
Wonderful rebounder, average at blocking & steals but poor shooting % , gross FT, gross distribution, Jonas better defender.

Re: General NBA Discussion Thread
Cousins with 48, Rondo with the triple double. They're not over 0.500 yet but they got the eight seed and it's going to take a lot for them to let it go. Should be interesting to see how their season shakes up.
"I definitely knew he traveled, but I didn't know they were going to call it. That was one of them situations in which a great player made a move...and they called the call. And I was like, 'Oh, man, there is a God.'
