How long do you plan on waiting there itbobby? I can’t imagine someone coming in from the West Coast would want to have a meeting at 9:30 in the morning.

I highly highly doubt he's in Toronto.

I'll be shocked if he is

Cousins and IGGY aren’t cutting it.

Iggy is such a massive get. Depth at that wing spot that can play great defence. Take the burden off of kawhi (if) and lebron

The other targets should be imo (regardless of kawhi)

Tj McConnell
Trey Burke
Both Morris brothers
Rhj
Pau gasol/ nene/ Amir johnson if any of them have anything left
Norvell jr ( on summer league squad)

Davis / old guys / morrissess
Lebron/ Morris / Morris
Iggy / rhj
Leonard / Norvell
McConnell/ Burke

Iggy isn't a starter anymore and LOL TJ McConnell LOL this isn't 1980, my guy.

I expect that they'll get Rondo back, at least.

You forgot Kuzma on your depth chart.

Thanks kuzma added

Iggy would be fine starting alongside lebron and Leonard

McConnell is a scrappy defender and good shooter. Rondo is a ball dominant liability and no where near the defender he used to be. Maybe playoff rondo might be real and worth having around though

If it really was 9pm you're gonna be waiting a long time.

There are two reasons Kawhi should stay;

1. We treated him well.
2. We believe he's not the type of guy to create a super-team.

Literally everything else points to the Lakers.

Weather, endorsement exposure, winning going forward, it's a historic franchise, you get to tap into some of the greatest players to ever play the game for advice, I could go on.

We've experienced over and over again that people who aren't born here, really don't care to play here for a long duration of their careers unfortunately.

The guy’s 26. The talk about him needing to play home is silly to me. There’s four teams in California, he’ll have plenty of opportunity to “go home”.

He's 28.

He's not going to GS, SAC. If he wants to win, then it's LAL over LAC.

The frenzy last night was wild and absolutely hilarious. Who knows what the hell will ultimately happen, but it was great entertainment.

Kawhi is not going to meet the Raptors in Toronto. That is ludicrous.

When all is said and done Lebron will have an asterisk on his career for always needing help wherever he goes..and people call this guy a top five player of all time

Don't blame BDE, blame the masses for thinking some ballboy on RealGM can feed them secret inside info that no one else has access to

Guy had everyone here convinced they were going to get a secret PM with "Kawhi's staying but keep it a secret" at a certain time last night, and we had maybe 50 pages of people begging him to shoot them a PM.

I think alot of people, the vast majority, were in it for the laughs only. I know I was. I have zero belief he knows anything.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

Maybe we get Iggy once he is bought out - defending champs, big minutes available

It was a pretty epic troll job, I’ve never seen anything like it. BDE is playing on the heartstrings of Raps fans. The desperation level of finding out any info is hilarious. Kawhi’s decision is getting more play here than when we actually won a championship. It’s really incredible.

My guy is 2 yrs old so it's not too hard to check your phone, however he totally opened and knocked over a bottle of balsamic on the group while I wasn't looking... 30 sec of phone was 10 mins of clean up. Be careful

Yeah I'm definitely getting more complaints about being on my phone while playing with my 6 month old this week

If Kawhi stays then it's over, it's going be hard for him to leave when we get Giannis in 2021.

That the mods thought it was allowable was surprising to me.

I watched this - it sounds like Cris is saying there is a tough choice for Kawhi - that's quite fair. Cris is not saying Kawhi has chosen the lakers only that if he had the choice, he would be LA. He says very clearly Kawhi's experience in Toronto changed him as it would change anyone. I don't think Cris thinks Kawhi has made up his mind yet.

I still think the longer it goes the better it is for us - going back home was what everyone expected. Going to team up with the Lakers was the favourite the minute they cleared cap space. Yet he hasn't decided which means we are getting serious consideration.

Raps Advantages:

1. Proven winner, defending champs
2. Proven front office
3. Proven coaching
4. Proven ownership
5. Proven medical staff

Lakers advantages:

1. LeBron and AD (but there's a downside to LeBron, too)
2. Lakers history
3. Closer to home
4. Weather

Marketing wise I'm not sure there's a huge difference.

After this year we don't give him a good chance to win. It's the Lakers, they're literally the most proven franchise in the history of the NBA. There's really no comparison on that front. Sure they just went through ridiculous problems right now, but the guy who got "back-stabbed", is still so loyal to the franchise that he recruited for them. The dysfunction for them (as enjoyable it is for me) is likely temporary.

You have to be kidding on the marketing end lol.

China LOVES Lebron/Kobe/Lakers. They're a much more global brand than the Raptors are.

These are unfortunate things we can't change. Our only hope is Kawhi focus's more on the fact that we have proven ourselves to him, rather than taking a leap of faith with the Lakers.

Return to Toronto Raptors
