GSW look ridiculous, best run organization in the league. They have championship talent and in the wings they have Wiseman, Kuminga, Moody. Plus they have guys in between those two in Poole, Wiggins and Porter. They will be competitive for the next 10 years.
Ska needs to make a comeback.

GSW vs Phx last night, the most modern of teams, but still featured a center matchup of Ayton and Looney. Great game. Centers aren't going away, just changing. The idea that the Raps don't need any centers is getting exposed more every game.

Compare how they rebounded from the 2019 Finals to the team they played in those Finals.

Good point, they did an outstanding job getting back to the top quickly and in a sustainable way. We had a good season after the championship and then tank.

How is it a good point though, when we took the chip from them in 2019 and then were much better then them again in 2020? They tanked in 2020, we tanked in 2021. Both teams missed the playoffs last year - but GSW were the ones that paid 147 million in luxury tax (!) for the privilege.

Their tank culminated in a terrible choice with Wiseman over Ball, whereas we made a great pick with Scottie. Jury still out on Kuminga and Moody off course, but it seems like they'd have been better off packaging those picks for another high-end vet.

They have Curry - we don't, that's the difference. But if you're comparing how each team did after 2019 it's pretty hard to make the case that they took the smarter path.

Their issue was they can't control injuries or they wouldn't be in the lottery. In 2020 they lost KD and their starting to SG. Then Curry missed a bunch of games. They were going to suck. That's why I ignore their luxury tax problem because they couldn't control that. Plus they made a bad trade trying to replace Klay and they were able to fix that with the Wiggins trade. So that's good in the end.

Ball is not going to get much playing time behind their backcourt all-stars. He's great but where would he play. Wiseman has a lot of talent and he has the potential to be a good player and GSW is good at developing. I agree Kuminga and Moody are too early to tell and they're too good to give them minutes. But if you're going to build a team having Wiseman, Kuminga and Moody along with Poole is better than Barnes, Barton and Flynn.

They were trying to make the playoffs last year though, and made that terrible Oubre trade. That move alone cost them a 1st and something like $50 mil in luxury payments. That's pretty terrible asset management.

Also yeah, they lost KD - but at least he gave them a chance to sign and trade him, which we couldn't do with KL.

Also, if we're comparing future building pieces, I would take Scottie/Trent/OG/Banton over Wiseman/Kuminga/Moody/Poole quite easily right now (again, that might change in the future, but as of today I don't think its close).

Also, Lamelo would definitely play for them - he can easily start next to Curry. They made the classic mistake of drafting for need over skill.

I agree that Oubre trade was terrible.

I agree with KD.

About future building pieces, that's debatable. Personally I'm high on Wiseman, Kuminga. Poole right now looks fantastic and Wiggins is sort of still young.

LaMelo could start last year but not this year with Thompson coming back. They did draft for need over skill but give Wiseman a couple of years to develop.
Ska needs to make a comeback.
