I would tend to think that Evan Mobley's injury torpedoes Mobley's chances, but I honestly don't think voters will be scrutinizing this as much as fans are. They tend to be more narrative driven and for whatever reason, that seems to be in Mobley's favour - don't think much changes that over the next few games.

recent NBA rookie ladder, even after Mobley's bad week and injury...

1.) Mobley 2.) Cunningham 3.) Barnes

I would be okay if they gave it to Barnes and Mobley as co-winners.

that would be probably be the best thing to recognize the best rookies on a playoff team considering both teams were in the lottery last year.

What I want to happen is for Scottie to win, what probably will happen is Mobley will win, what should happen is for them to be Co ROTY.

If they had him 3rd last week, there was no need to change now as his last 5 games were meh.

Either way, his odds right now are down to 2/1 and 3/1, so he has a good chance to win if he gets back to good consistent performances.

Exactly this. Cade has been playing well, taking nothing away from him, but if he wins over Scottie and Mobley who are making their production on playoff teams, it would be wrong.

With Mobley out, and teams in seed jockeying mode, Scottie should have some opportunities to enhance his case, and Nurse will likely look to build his confidence before the playoffs. Go get it Scottie ROY!

If Cade wins, he will have the worst TS% among rookie of the year winners since Michael Carter-Williams.

I highly doubt he wins tbh even though I think he'll be the best player from this draft.

Especially in the playoffs, I think bigs like Barnes/Mobley will be more impactful than a 6'5 guard. The way the league is going, you need a dominant, do-it-all wing/big. The players who truly dominate in the playoffs are guys like KD, Giannis, Kawhi, Lebron etc. The only guy who doesn't fit this mold is the greatest shooter of all-time.

Cade's really good, but I'd still take Mobley and Barnes over him because they can impact the game in so many different ways from an offensive and defensive standpoint.

It’s a tough ask for a rookie, but really hope we get more stable defensive performances from him going into the playoffs. He was awful against the Celtics. His lows need to be not as low.

It’s now or never. Whole team galvanized around FVV to get him that all star spot. I hope they do the same for Scottie.

His usage drops off a cliff when the starting 5 are all healthy so hopefully they make more of an effort to involve him in the offence. I doubt it though.

will be tough for anyone to match Barnes from this draft longterm. Raptors development has not kicked in yet and already overachieved expectations this season. Same goes for Precious...

If Barnes (or Mobley) played on a tanking team, it would be crazy to think what their raw stats would look like with higher usage rates. When winning and efficiency don't matter, it's a lot easier to put numbers.
