I mean, it's the same score as game 5 at home too.

Do Leafs fans just not get mad? I'm seeing fans being interviewed, and they seem so sheepish. Where is the rage?

That was one of the most embarassing game 7s I've ever watched in any sport.

Man, what can you even say? I've been a fan since 92 and I'm crushed but I can't even imagine how it feels for those who've been around for most of this drought.

That seems like the dagger for this core and we'll finally get some real change this off-season but still doesn't erase what a disappointment that entire era was in the end.

To best describe the Leafs of the past 6 decades: Zero effs given as long as money is made.

With Ed Rogers being the oligarch that owns Toronto sports and practically the country with the Telecom cartel, expect more of the same.

Brad Marchand dropping 1g and 2a on the Leafs in a game 7 is such a fitting narrative. Dude has owned the Leafs for 15 years now it's crazy.

With Marner and Tavares being UFAs, expect both to be gone. I bet you those 2 will win Stanley cups elsewhere. It's just like in the mid 90's when the team sucked and Larry Murphy was scapegoated for failure and then went to Detroit to win 2 Cups and who can forget the hot dog man Phil Kessel who won 3 cups after leaving the headache that was Toronto and it's insufferable media and fan base.

Man I'm glad I'm an Oilers fan. Even if we don't even win a Stanley cup with our core at least they show up SOMETIMEs.

This Leafs core is the definition of choking.

Sports fans in this city are all casuals. Sporting events are just social gathering spots for the rich. Look at the Leafs and Jays. A decade of abject failure, and yet fans continue to pack the arena/stadium. No amount of failure will get Toronto sports "fans" to stop paying money. They go to these games to drink with friends and take Instagram photos. No one even knows the rules to the game they're supposedly watching.

I hate Boston and Philly sports teams, but their fans are actually passionate and show their owners when they're mad.

They have probably already lost the ragers. This is what they're left with. :P

This surely has to be the most pathetic era though right? Considering the level of talent and only having a couple of 2nd round appearances to show for in 9 seasons is truly shocking.

The Oilers have had some embarassing series but they took those experience and piled a few deep runs.

I was actually looking forward to seeing the Oilers spank the Leafs in the Stanley Cup finals.

I forgot it was the Leafs for a second. I really did.

Time goes fast man I remember the Auston Matheaws draft like it was yesterday.

9 seasons I can see why the Leafs fan were booing Marner but why was he the only getting it? is it because he refused to sign an extension?

Boston and Philly fans show up regardless of the results. Same with fans in NY, Chicago, and LA. Toronto is no different. You're just describing fan bases of big cities with engrained sports culture.

Also, this Leafs team is essentially the Embiid Sixers...

Marner is not built for a rough playoff series. Skilled and extremely talented, but too fragile for when the going gets tough.

- Someone who's not a fan and only saw 6 minutes of game 3.

They got outplayed badly in this game. It makes the GM's job much easier.
Organization can be defined as an organized body of people with a particular purpose. Not random.

no doubt. same here. they finally got the 1C they were waiting since mats to get. and they still wasted an entire era.

and they were booing everyone including matthews. a loss like that falls on all of them.

The sad thing is, it's not even that they're getting their hearts broken, like the Gilmore or Sundin era Leafs, just barely missing the finals. This Leafs squad has given the fans literally nothing this decade.
