They're nearly identical in size, length, and weight, and both play a kind of hybrid 4/5 game as rim runners who can also make great short roll passes. A playoff team is going to snag a really good player late in the first.

Same. If Bufkin or Cason aren’t available I’d strongly consider trading back for some NBA ready rookies like TJD and Sasser.

Would you move Precious for a pick to get him?

Leonard Miller grading extremely well with this model.

Wonder why Scoot is so low. Athletic lead guards with good playmaking tend to work out. Morant, Rose, Westbrook, John Wall.

Nice to see Gradey Dick so high, i think he's going to be really good

Prime D Rose?

Seriously though...Prime DRose was primarily based on being such an explosive athlete, not exactly NS Jr's calling card.

"Smith is a high-potential player who possesses excellent scoring abilities. His offensive game is characterized by his explosive speed and smooth jump shot. Nevertheless, Smith's lack of consistent playing time during the season has limited his impact on the court."

If you go to the tweet, he shows his results from the last few years. I give him credit for his transparency, but the results are pretty random.

Nothing to see here.

Positional size
+ Length
Good defensively
Year-over-year improvement
Positive analytical markers
Offensive upside

I agree mostly except 'feel for the game' doesn't seem like something they have valued enough in past drafts. Scottie Barnes and maybe Delon Wright are the only ones I think that grade highly in that regard.

I'd add Poeltl to that. Really good instincts on both ends of the floor.

He does now, but the stats in college suggest mediocre feel.

Can you statistically measure feel? That seems more like an intangible trait.

Updated list of players we've worked out.

Looks like we worked out Gradey Dick, Jordan Hawkins and Charles Bediako recently.

The amount of filthy plays this guy makes is absolutely off the charts. Who the hell banks shots in so high off the glass like that with ease. This kid is a basketball prodigy hiding in plain sight.

Again if he were like 15% more athletic what's stopping him from being the best guard in the entire draft?

He took a CHARGE in a combine scrimmage. Everything he does makes you love him.

This could totally be a move that has a real possibility to go down....Ingram is basically what you would want Miller to become and fits the Hornets perfect pairing with Ball and their crew....

Pelicans seem to really want Scoot so if there is a deal to be done on draft night i think this has alot of legs and has a real good chance of happening if Pelicans are serious enough....

Acquiring Irving or VanVleet would almost certainly require a sign-and-trade, which would hard cap the Lakers at $169.0 million. The Lakers can create roughly $30million to $35 million in cap space, but it would cost them multiple rotation players, likely including Hachimura. Even then, Irving and VanVleet may want more than the $35 million the Lakers can offer – Irving’s maximum contract would start at about $47 million and VanVleet’s max begins at $40.2 million.

:o

I mean, in what universe ...?

This is a likely scenario on draft night....I could see the Hornets wanting Ingram > Miller & Scoot....Ball would be in the Pelicans court with this one....How bad do they want Scoot will be the question.

The other thing that's nuts about Brandin is that he pretty much redshirted his freshman year, I think he had less than 100 minutes, so very little actual on court basketball game experience relative to other guards here. Steals hide in plain sight.

I'm not buying the Keyonte George rumours. The Raptors want to play less selfish and he's the most selfish player in the first round*. Plays east-west instead of north-south and lives off a heavy diet of difficult shots, and the D is sometimes there and sometimes not. This kind of player is fine for teams that have superstars and just want someone to break down the D off the bench a little and be a threat to go off.

*exaggerating for effect, but he does play a selfish style of ball.

It depends how much you like Ingram. I don't think the Pelicans should trade him. They were hyper competitive for two long stretches last year whenever either Zion or Ingram were available, and unstoppable when both were available and at their peak. Although the value is similar, I think the Pelicans should not do this trade, they'll regret it.

I don't see a basketball prodigy in that video. His athleticism looks bleh. Looks like he'd be a serious liability on the defensive end in the NBA.
