Really do like Poeltl. He's my pick at #9 although I prefer to trade back, get a PF and take Prince

Another underwhelming group. Something's definitely up at 9.

Oh ffs! Pls tell me that's true that it's for some half measure n really looking at the teams that would be drafting in that rough range because to me the group of guys we're looking at could go anywhere 12-17

I don't see a single player off any of those teams that put us over the top......

Utah
PHX
CHI
DEN
BOS
MEM

Anything less than bringing back Hood and/or Lyles then brace yourself for NIGHTMARE OFFSEASON 2017!!

Now the question is which of those teams in that range is unusually looking at players that seem above their range???

Overall: Wayne Selden really showed a lot of improvement last season. In place he had an NBA body, NBA athleticism, and a pretty well rounded package, but made leaps to assert himself as a slasher and a long range shooter. His base, I feel, has value to an NBA team who can help him continue to hone is floor game. I feel is ceiling is that of a starter if he’s in the right situation, but he could also struggle to stick in the NBA if he’s in the wrong one. The physical jump to the next level will not be much of an issue for such a specimen, but taking the next step with his overall game while on an NBA roster will be crucial for Selden. He’s proven himself a team player, a competitive player, and a guy with the ability to improve.

What's funny is that I had lunch with Terrence Ross' agent yesterday. We talked about every possible scenario. Toronto never came up.

Must take a player at 9. Between our team in the East and the Clips' pick next year, it could be years before we get the chance to pick top10 again.

Bulls need a centre. If they like poleti I would Doug or mirotic and 14th for the 9th pick. Then Draft prince. We get a strench 4 and a Casey guy backup sf

If true, this would be a horrible deal. Nets arent getting out of the lottery for the foreseeable future, therefore a protected pic is not worth much.

Horrible? 1sts like #27 go for 2nd + cash typically. 2 2nds + 1 protected 1st (likely will have something that turns it into a 2nd) for #27 is a good deal.

100% agreed!

I also pray this has nothing to do with our supposed "interest" n Thaddeus Young near the deadline n this trade compounds from horrible to even worse and we make it Ross + 27 for Thad + that empty first and some 2nds.

That would be a HUGE step back in the wrong direction losing cap space for Biyombo, who has a greater effect on our success than Young would AND we basically give away the 27 for basically some 2nd rdrs. Please let there be no truth to any of it.

Yeah lol omg I remember reppin him coming out of HS like he was the 2nd coming of DWade, kinda embarrassing how he turned out in a way lol for me at least....but I do still believe he has EVERYTHING to be a very good pro. He does remind me a lot of Powell, I would say Norm is faster and a bit more athletic but Selden is stronger n probably has a more natural jumper. I would still love to grab Selden but I don't see Masai adding another SG unless he believes that he can be a star in the future considering our depth at that position which is why I'm, sticking with Yabsule.

Whoever grabs him is getting a heck of a player considering where he's projected to be available.

In the middle of the NBA finals it hit me who the Big Austrian, Jakob Poeltl reminds me of a bit: Rik Smits!

I know the Dunking Dutchman was 7'3 but when I was watching more Poeltl stuff earlier I was trying to place a visual movement comparison who he reminded me of and couldn't place it. Both guys have more fast twitch speed on both straight line drives and in the post than you would expect looking at their massive size.

Again, not saying that's the upside here but he reminds me of him a little. I just googled that one out of curiosity and his own coach also made the same comparison. I love when something like this hits me and then I check and others in the game feel similar.

he could also remind someone of Miles Plumlee. The problem with this kid is he only took 4 jump shots outside of 4 feet last year.

Can you see him being effective in the warriors / cars series based on his style of play? I say no, that type of centre is not needed. JV is so much better.

The type of player that is worth something now can shoot 3's

Again, you can't play small ball against a team with good bigs. A team that can take advantage of their size will beat a team who plays small ball every single time. Not saying Poeltl is that guy, but he's an excellent big man. People think they're going to go small and beat a team with arguably the 2 greatest perimeter shooters in league history on the same roster, which is not happening.

Guys like Draymond Green and Harrison Barnes are defending big men who play a perimeter style. They're not stopping a post up big like JV 1 on 1 without fouling.

Ironically VC's reverse dunk in Smits' face sums up how I feel about drafting Poeltl.

Draymond Green is this generation's Dennis Rodman. Its almost impossible to compare him. Looking at how long it took to develop JV, how good he is compared to Poetl, Im just not willing to wait 3 years when big men aren't as important in the game anymore. We have a centre with a post game. A back up centre just needs to bang and block shots.

I'd much rather add 3 point shooting or back up perimeter defenders, which seem to be very important in this NBA.

Taureen Prince has a bigger role in the league then Poetl regardless of talent
