For anyone who is actually interested in our prospective coaches and not fighting on the internet, the point was that Adelman does have that on his record and just like any other job, his employer is going to be aware of it and it's not exactly a great thing to have on there (multiple DUIs).

What is with the defensiveness in every thread? Everyone isn’t out to get you.

You're out to get me every time I utter a word. You involved yourself here regarding the amount of times he was booked for DUI and turn this into an argument over a technicality of what I said in my OP.

Calling someone an alcoholic with no idea about their situation is not a technicality. Grow up.

According to whom? Why would you even automatically assume that, and make no mistake, that's an assumption

What are you claiming I'm assuming? That Jordi doesn't have a criminal record involving endangering the lives of others?

Take 10 seconds to do your own research or look in my post history about Adelman instead of wasting my time and assuming things about what I say.

Remember Dream when you assume you make an ASS out of U and ME.

For a coaching hire? That's an assumption. Especially when coaches have gone through much worse and still get hired. Heck we were recently linked to Udoka

Pete Walker got a DUI and Jays fans pretended that it never happened after a couple weeks because hes great at his job.

Lets just hire whoever can get Scottie to the next level, imo.

Nurse lost the Bucks, soon Suns (Kevin Young), so he needs the Klutch spin to the last team. I think he'd be a terrible fit for Philly cuz of Embiid there. Harden going to walk too. That's a meh job

Hey all. Just wanted to drop by and say I hope Jordi gets the Raptors job.
He was awesome in Sacramento this past season and it started from his first moment of getting here. His relationship with Fox and Sabonis was great and he instilled a desire to win. He is a super competitive guy, holds people accountable, and drives a winning culture.

I really don't want him to leave the Kings, but he deserves an HC gig and IMO he looks ready.

This was well said. It's a players league. You need a strong culture where players are in line with the organization and having accountability but you also need to be able to connect and bring together. It's why the top guys in Boston fell in love with Udoka. It's why Bucks went with Griffin over Nurse.

He might be the preferred candidate of our forum at this point. Good with young players, coached Jokic and Sabonis, coached the Nigerian national team with Brown which was the last time Precious Achiuwa looked like a basketball player.

David Adelman had two DUIs within a couple of months of each other. I'm not sure why being a recovering alcoholic, if that's what he considers himself now, would be something that scares the Raptors off.

His sister also had a few DUIs, too.

Apparently down to the final 3 candidates, with interviews and a decision coming soon.

It appears that a coach will be in place in time for the pre-draft process.

Even if he doesn’t get a job this summer he’ll be fine. He’s getting paid 1 more year, will coach Canada, remains highly coveted, and good jobs will emerge next summer when title contenders fall short.

I agree though Nurse would make a mistake joining the 76ers.

I'm sure Nick still has cameos lined up in various Canadian shows like Hudson and Rex, Transplant and Wong & Winchester. His acting career is just getting started.

Not so fast, I never trust anything from Sacramento after the Sacramento Screw Job. Why is this guy trying to pawn Jordi off on us? What's in it for them? Unless that's what they want us to think...

Nah it's legit. OP's right about Sabonis and Jordi also helped with Denver's offense that we're seeing today.

https://www.denverpost.com/2018/07/22/jordi-fernandez-nuggets-assistant/

Fernandez’s job this summer was to teach the Nuggets’ style of play — spacing the floor and playing through their big men on offense, along with protecting the paint and defending the 3-point line on defense. But he relished his return to concocting his own practice structure and quickly blending players into a team, a flashback to his G League days.

During one of those early sessions, Fernandez reviewed an offensive set and the proper defense to counter it. That was an opportunity for Fernandez to subconsciously dip back into his sports psychology research about how a play’s effectiveness can be determined by the team’s behavioral patterns before the shot goes up.
