Lol I’ve been watching summer league since 03.

I’m not saying Barnes is a bad player or a terrible pick but I think we missed. It happens.

And I know watching summer league to ignore a few things like turnovers, assist, fg%, points, etc.

Games are usually sloppy because of the talent. I watch for athleticism, fluidity, court vision, and ability to score and get to the basket.

Barnes will look better in games with better spacing. But I think Suggs was the pick
You've been watching since 03 and you're STILL making definitive statements on guy's careers based on a couple of games? That's tuff

I thought I was the only one who noticed that was weird, dudes been watching for close 20 years but he's determining how good a kids gonna be after ONE AND HALF summer league games.

i thought barnes showed great flashes driving the ball and drawing fouls. His off the dribble game looked promising. He was less active on defense than the first game but im not worried about his defense at all

lol I watched some of this game and noticed Barnes didn't get many touches, but he also didn't have a strong confident finish if he got bumped even with his strong body in the lane. And then I saw the Orlando game and Suggs did alright..his unathletic putback was pretty good. /s. But honestly, the bipolar nature as stated by a lot of the fans is just...wow. I'm a Suggs guy and always will be...but I think everybody has to realize this is SL and Barnes is a PROJECT. He's doesn't have a bag offensively and this is what needs to develop. As I've always said since the pick..give it 3 YEARS. In the meantime, it'll be a few rough seasons.

You know how other NBA fans say that the Raptors are one of the most toxic fanbase? I get it! We are sometimes! We’re super passionate about our team, but we are hella toxic sometimes!

It’s natural to overreact but one bad summer league game is not gonna define his career! Also not a reason to give up on the kid!

the unit that came in after our starters tanked this game away for us lol. Overall hard to watch from the reffing, broadcasting to the execution and rotations.

Some of us just know what we’re looking at.

Bust

Why do you insist we are making assessments only off of this game. Go watch his college tape, he is zero offensive game. Most of his buckets are so awkward they would never happen vs nba players

The histrionics on this board is a microcosm of why the pandemic has lasted so long.
People waste too much emotion on things of little importance and once they’ve staked a position, they’re too stubborn to admit they overreacted.
This place is downright disturbing.

The one that does isn’t the Raptor.
You might need to watch more tape if you think Suggs was a great half court shot creator at Gonzaga

Did I say Suggs was a great half court shot creator? No I said he had a half court offensive game. Barnes doesn’t even have a semblance of that.

It’s not like Masai and Bobby are shocked by that. They didn’t draft Barnes thinking he was a finished project

We've learned so far that Barnes is best when you put the ball in his hands. I guess today's game they wanted to see what Banton could do at PG for some reason lol

Return to Toronto Raptors
