It really is a situation where teams are saying: why would we give you anything for a guy you are willing to shed? Even packaged with a FRP it doesn't look like that can get you much of anything.

Wrong on both fronts. I know it's already been pointed out to you, but I feel like piling on lol.

33 million dollars pouting on the bench and tanking an MVP level season from Embiid along with his own trade value. Don't know what to call that other than dysfunction.

That's Ben's problem, not the Sixers'. The team is trying to fix it so that 33 mill turns into a player that actually contributes.

While the young socialite is largely at fault, a lot of blame is on the 76ers themselves, so yes it's a dysfunctional situation.

That's too rich for Philly to part with. Simmons/Thybulle/Green/Drummond for Harden/Claxton seems fair considering the position they're both in.

Harden would be in a Philly strip club by now if that was Brooklyn's offer. Thybulle is not even that valuable with Simmons. Atlanta exposed them both last year. Smart to ask for Drummond and put more heavy lifting on Embiid's frail body.

Yup.

Much rather no deal get done which hurts Philly, and then let the Nets struggle trying to get healthy this year....have them lose....then have Harden go join a team in the West.

Dame and Harden would be cool to see with Portland opening up cap space. Doubt Harden will go there though.

Lillard/Harden/Hart/Grant/Nurkic could be fun.

If this is true, no trade is happening. Didn't realize the Nets also have Morey working in their front office.

Current Kings roster needs some one who can shoot 3s from their 4 spot, Barnes is perfect for that role. Otherwise they zero shooters in their starting 5

I agree with you as Barnes is a 40% shooter from three and I believe he is 49% from the corners.

I am only mentioning Barnes as a target because there seem to rumors about him being traded away. Stylistically he should fit well with Sabonis. I just wonder if Sacramento sees a long-term fit with him, or if they would want to pivot to get draft capital and some space to go after someone in free agency next offseason.

If negotiations are 0-100 and a deal is made around 50, They're both asking for a 75-80 right now lol. Morey started at 100, so I guess that's improvement?

This trade would gut the 76ers lol. This is the problem of trying to trade 2 "superstars" between two competitors, mid season. Not only are they trying to extract value, but they're also trying to screw the other team so they don't have as much competition in the playoffs.

Nets will win the chip if they get it.

Homestly...harden on philly works on paper....but i can definitely envision problems for that lineup. Embiid is already questionable when it comes to winning attitude. Harden will amplify that. I can't see it working in the grand scheme of things. They will be a perrenial disappointment imo. That team will just scream under-achievement.

Nets on the other hand would be absolutely stacked.

Man an in-division trade of this magnitude has to be rare?
Can anyone think of a trade with similar star power, in division, in season?

I'm genuinely curious what other suitors there are for Harden and Simmons?

Not every player in the rotation can be elite defensively. Teams pick on Fred all the time in the post because of his height, does that mean we should not play him?

Obviously if our management thinks Heild would be a lost cause in our defensive system then it wouldn't make too much sense. I just feel his shooting is exactly what this team needs off the bench if his price is just Dragic and a pick.

There is not a single contender in the NBA that doesn't have at least one player worse than Hield defensively, and he's consistently one of the best volume shooters, which isn't easy to do in this league. His contract is a bad fit for the Raptors, unfortunately. They need shooting, but not at that price and for that long term.

This is exactly why the Raps continue to "surprise" over teams with flashier offensive talent, tho.

Why would we give away that advantage?

Those 4 guys are basically 80% of a starting lineup that could make the play-in on their own lol.
Which is probably what the Nets need because the rest of their team is pretty garbage outside of KD/Kyrie 0.5.
