But I legit would try to develop Chriss like a SF. I don't see why he can't play it if a guy like Deng could in his career. The kid is already this skilled and has only been playing for 4 years (which is crazy) and is still only 18 y/o. At worst we got a super skilled PF. I think if we take him that the funny thing is I could see him and Bruno swapping positions. The only thing is we'll need a really strong ballhandler at PG that can distribute but who knows. The kid just seems to have a star quality about him imo and it terrifies me if he falls into Indy's hands.

Silly BC when he kept trading away our 2nd rounders in garbage deals. I think this trade in particular had Quincy Douby involved.

I had to look it up - even worse than Quincy Douby - our 2016 2nd rounder went as part of us pulling off the sign and trade for Hedo Turkoglu - which when all was said and done was a 4-team trade. I didn't remember those other teams being involved - I guess I've tried to block out everything Turkoglu related. Our own Jerry Stackhouse moved in this deal as well. July 2009 - seems like a lifetime ago.

I really hope he does well. I have him somewhere in between Kwame Brown, Andray Blatche, & Amare Stoudamire. If he turns out to be as good as Blatche with a good attitude I think his team gets a steal, and obviously Brown and Stoudamire are the two other ends of the spectrum.

Wade Baldwin

Post#1904 » by BoyzNTheHood » Sat May 14, 2016 2:49 am

I posted this about Wade Baldwin back in December. Although I'm not convinced he's a superstar anymore, I will put him at the level of a George Hill who is a damn good NBA player. After the combine and workouts though I can see Wade going in the lotto.

He sounds like a great on the ball defender and at 6' 4 he has the same wingspan of 6'11 like Powell.

Err, you mean 6 time all star and an all-nba player is his floor?

Guards with long wingspans and big hands usually do well in the NBA. Like I said, I can see him being another George Hill. I doubt he turns out as good as Rondo even though he can shoot, but Hill is realistic in my opinion.

This is what happens when you only read half of the sentence. I clearly said that Brown is one end of the spectrum and Stoudamire is the other end. Brown being the low end and Stoudamire being the high end. C'mon champ, put in a little more effort...

my bad, saw it as andray blatche and brown/stoudamire as the ends of the spectrum. You probably shouldn't have used the word 'other' there.

interesting about us interviewing Pat McCaw...

I'd like to see us look at Malcolm Brogden as well.

Curious what bigs Masai looks at.

Apparently Diallo as well. I don't mind looking at him. He can be the Biz replacement if he bolts, plus he was once a projected top-5 pick but didn't get the minutes to prove himself. So, at 27 that's not bad at all.

Baldwin looks like a guy who will stick around in the league. Nice finisher with either hand.
Felder just has some insanely tight handles and outstanding quickness. Not even sure who I would compare him to.

Call me crazy but I think this kid can absolutely play point guard in the NBA. Man, he'd be scary guarding opposing team's point guards. Can't believe I never really considered this. His ability to play the passing lanes will absolutely reek havoc in the NBA which suggest he'll be a great defensive player. I heard a Corey Brewer comp in this thread but his feel for the game sort of remind me the same sort of feel for a the game a young Andre Iguodala had as a sophomore albeit less athletic and a much better shooter at the stage Iggy was as a sophomore. If he does have that same feel for the game, it's just a matter of time he sneaks into the lottery in mocks and we have to consider him at 9 just to get him. Pass first wing player that could make a couple of all defensive teams if he wants it. We'll see though, I like everything that I've seen and heard so far. Just look at this video below.

I found it interesting that Philly was interviewing Poeltl today.

He certainly isn't going first and isn't falling to 24th either. They've already got Embiid and Okafor at C so... could we be looking at an Embiid for #9 deal in the making? Or more likely and Embiid for #6 or #7 deal? (I don't think Poeltl falls to #9)

They need a great PG and a great SG to contend. They don't need another C, or really Simmons or Ingram. They already have Noel, Okafor and Covington.

I wonder if their #1 pick is in play... DD and Kyle to Philly for their top pick and Embiid??? Structure that however you want, that would be a pretty good return for one more season of Kyle.

I think I'm warming up to Chriss. His rebounding ding is a major concern, but the athleticism and potential ability to stretch the floor could be a beautiful fit beside JV in 2 years.

I keep wavering on who we should draft. I'm not exactly enamoured with any of the prospects. With that said I've never had a good track record with predicting our draft picks. But I trust Masai will have done his homework and do what's best for the team moving forward.

For me with the 9th pick I like Deyonte Davis. He's got great 2 way potential as a PF.
