It might be the case that I am wrong, and I hope that I am, but even looking at current numbers, Franz is a 40% three point shooter on a bigger volume is averaging 4 assists since his usage went up, and is the same age and size as Scottie. Franz was also a great defender in college so he has room to grow there as well.
I also had Trey Murphy rated really high - not quite on their levels, but I just value shooters with length.
You are cherry picking stats without really understanding them.
Wagner is shooting 38%, not 40% from the 3. His strength on the 3s is the assisted corner 3, where he is hitting 48%. Most NBA players can shoot a high % from an assisted corner 3 (even Derozan shoots 36% career on that shot). Scottie himself is at 38% on that shot, but he gets far less opportunity than Franz to shoot it.
Despite Wagner's higher assisted 3pt output, he is still less efficient than Scottie with a .535% TS to Scottie's .544% TS. Scottie is averaging 15/8/3/1/1 on 49% FG to Wagner's 14/4/3/1/0.5 on 44% FG.
No offense, but you'd have to be nuts to think that Wagner is currently having a better season, has a higher upside, or should have been picked ahead of Scottie.
ps: The Grizz' leading scorer in the Lakers win was JJJ, not Bane.
I am not going to bother checking

We can tell.
No need to be rude. I am not going to bother checking because it is fairly obvious Scottie score the majority of his points in or close to the paint.
If you bothered to read the rest of the post I did post several numbers that refute the other poster's points.

Are we at the stage where players tune out Thibs, yet? It always happens at some point.
Randle now has lost his shot and it is killing their offense as he is the focal point. They benched Kemba. Basically, they are slowly drowning. To Thibs credit he has stuck with IQ and Toppin and Barrett in their roles, so that is a fair amount of young guys playing.
Grimes is a good story. I love those Houston Cougars players because they play an NBA style offense with a ton of pace and shooting. Grimes might be the best of the recent group because he has always been a strong shooter, but I am also thinking to keep tabs on DeJon Jarreau. He is a lot like a Will Barton type to me. I think he is with the Pacers currently, but I can see him figuring things out.

Thibs works in spurts, you can’t have a coach like him for multiple of years, players will tune that hard nosed style off, especially if you aren’t winning.

Brooklyn just beat a healthy Philly team with the same roster that beat us. Turns out that as long as KD is playing, they are still really good.
Much like Memphis without Ja this year.

I think it boils down to winning habits. Brooklyn had been on a hot streak prior to this recent streak so there is a lot of positive momentum, and having one of the likely MVP candidates doesn't hurt. I just worry that Durant will get hurt with the added workload and attention. It is still so early in the season.
I will say that Brooklyn killed it in the draft. They had late picks but Cam Thomas, Kessler Edwards, and Day'Ron Sharpe are all great role players with Thomas being a potential steal where he was picked. The value of late first / early second is seriously underrated. All are cheap contracts and can have some great on-court impact. Once you get into the 40s its a crap shoot.
Philly is having a weird season. They kind of played okay with Embiid out, but they have never really turned a corner with him back. A team with so much talent being only .500 is kind shocking. It is like they need to wake up and remember that they are a contending team.
To me, that Memphis coach should win COY. 18-11 record with Ja out for a portion of games. Their front office always slays on draft night. They are like run by Draft Twitter (Bane, Tillman, Aldama, Tillie, Culver, Ziaire Williams) - those were all deep sleeper prospects that had podcast attention.

Maxey didn’t play. Sixers have no real point guard with or without Maxey with Ben sitting ou. but at least he can score for them some time.

Well the Celtics, Hawks, and Hornets all lost tonight. Which means the Raptors are actually really close to the 7th seed. tWo isn't gonna like me saying this, but Scottie Barnes getting playoff experience in his rookie season will be huge for his development

Even in spite of losing games we should have won, we are only 2.5 game out of 6th spot.

Surprised that Dec 15 date passed and no NBA trades. I hope we do something not involving the core 8 or so, just to get an upgrade at center and maybe a ballhandler.

Knicks 13-17
Hawks 14-15
Celtics 15-15
Hornets 16-15 (Bout to be 16-16 after tomm night)
Wizards 16-15
Philly 15-15
6th seed is within reach for the Raptors. They just gotta string some wins together. A 4/5 Game winning streak would go a long way right now

Incredibly rough start to a career for Suggs. When he's not injured, he's culminating a bust-like stat line. Abysmal shooting, a 1:1 AST/TO ratio, and poor defence are not what you want in your lead guard. He can't possibly be this bad, but he's got a long way to go. Being drafted by such a terrible team was the worst thing that could have happened to him.
So far, Jalen Suggs looks like exhibit #3824982894239 as to why tanking is a bad idea. To some degree, it's a crapshoot. This guy was almost a unanimous top 4 pick in the deepest draft in years. We are so lucky that we have Masai and Bobby, who have proven they're willing to take risks to do what they think is right. Don't underestimate career risk in NBA front offices - there's tonnes of pressure to go with the safe pick. If the player turns into a bust, it looks bad, but you can always point to the consensus to defend the decision.

We're 4 games out of 2nd place with 53 games to go. Honestly the only two teams that scare me right now are Brooklyn and Milwaukee. As crazy as it seems, I don't think 6th seed is the ceiling of the team this season. I did out the outset of the season, but that was before Scottie's emergence. With the parity in the conference and COVID added in for good measure, I can see a path to this team shocking everyone and winning a first round series. If things break right. If they break wrong, I could also see us missing the playoffs.

You need to tank AND have good scouting. Not all teams such as the Kings have both. We are fortunate I this regard.
