McRoberts is a good to great passer at his position?

Just tell him it was a horrible comparison

How many bigs averaged 4.3 assists per game this year?

Yes they're bringing in Josh! If he can lock down Grant, Robinson and Early it would big and a steal for the Raptors. Damn I want to see this scrimmage - offensive guys and defensive guys on the wing. It's gonna be nice.

Latest DX mock is interesting. Has us taking Payton now. It has James Young dropping huge down to 22.

Wow interesting lineup with those 4 going head to head and that being a position of need ( even with BPA mentality) this is interesting. If one of these guys steps up here and dominates they would easily earn a long look at a raptors pick.

My money is on Early

Although a Michigan fan always cheering for Robinson a little on the inside, he never really got to put it all together in college but he's a very talented player.

Spurs' starting lineup is:

Parker
Green
Leonard
Duncan
Splitter

As I can see, I see only 1 ball handler in Parker. You can argue Duncan is a superb facilitator for a bigman.

Our version of the 3+D in Ross cannot guard big SFs (see Joe Johnson).

All I'm saying is I prioritize the need for a big defensive-minded SF, either draft or trade

We need a big SF, but not necessarily at #20. This draft is deep at SG/SF, so I think we can pick up Thanasis or some other SF at the very least with our #37.

Finally, Jerami Grant is working out for us. The good mix between offensive-minded and defensive-minded players will give him a chance to show his game.

Like KJ McDaniels his calling card is defense. I think if Grant shows his lateral quicks and some shot alteration, he might move into number 1 at 20.

Grant may have D, but he has no offense to speak of. Most of the footage I found on YouTube are just him doing putback dunks. Kinda reminds me of Outlaw... nothing special.

Forgot to post this yesterday - saw Sim Bhullar walking at Bay/Harbour. He'd obviously been working out at the ACC. The awful photo doesn't do justice to how enormous (and sweaty) he was.

I seriously doubt he'll be in discussion for our pick after today. Huestis will show why he's much better value MUCH later in the draft as a defender, and Early will probably have the best workout. I can't see Masai being influenced into taking Grant, Masai is better than that.

That would be good for us, but I suspect McDermott may drops. I hope Capela or James Young can be taken above us. Since there is lack of demand at PG, and the shooting concerns for Payton, he may very well be at our pick.

Definitely not at 20 (Grant) but if he, Early and Dimwiddie were all there at 37 it could be interesting. Workouts could decide that decision. I'd feel pretty good about any one of those 3 at 37, to be honest. I don't like Jerami Grant very much but at 37 I could be talked into believing he could be groomed into a player and that he's worth the gamble there.

I would be surprised if 2 of that 3 were still there at 37 though. It's possible all 3 could be selected by then.

I personally would be disappointed with Payton at our pick. PG is the most saturated position in the NBA with decent options and he doesn't strike me as a special talent. He has good athleticism but not great, he has good passing skills but not great, and his shot is horrendous. For every Rondo there are 5 Royal Iveys and he's more Ivey than Rondo imo.

Yeah, I can get on board with that line of thinking for Grant, but even then if all 3 of those guys are there at 37 I'm scratching my head trying to decide between Dinwiddie and Early, with Grant being my 3rd choice.

I think Early will be really impressive in workouts and I could easily see him being picked before 20. He's a good outside shooter, good athlete, has good size and can fill a role very well. Teams that want to get better right away will not be afraid to take him. Phoenix and Chicago would both be good fits for him.

I think my dream draft right now would go something like

20- Warren, Early or McDaniels
37- Inglis, Dinwiddie, Bogdanovic
59- Burton, Christon, Bachynski, Diagne
