There have been many many reports that he won't sign an extension anywhere else

It is all in the subtly of the language. He says he won't sign an extension with the new team if he is traded to the team and will wait until the summer. A team that trades for him can only offer a 2 year extension. That same team, with his bird rights, can offer him a 5 year deal in the summer. That's why his agent is letting teams know they are not interested in the 2 year extension.

I'm sure some teams are trying to pressure him to sign the 2 year extension, because they probably figure at the end of that deal they will be able to sign him for less than max.

Right, and it was also reported that Masai had previously offered him a 2-3 extension which he rejected.

No one wants to pay max to Pascal other than maybe Philly or Indy. We have the evidence of Pascal’s past 4 years, crapped in the Boston series, Bubble Pascal, Not touching a basketball for 4 months in covid, selfishness all proof anyone who pays him the max will regret it in 2 years max

It never seemed like Siakam was a verbal leader, which should be fine as many of the guys at his level aren't either. We won a ring with our best player being a mute.

Also, Barnes seems like a baby at times when he clearly coasts during some games because of his mood. This stuff shouldn't take away from the overall players they are.

The only person who should be blamed for the past 2 years is Masai and Masai himself. The roster construction has been a joke and we finally look like a decent team again BECAUSE Masai made a move to better balance the team positionally and IQ wise.

It definitely should. Barnes is 22 still a pup, he has to grow up still. Siakam is 29. My point is the lack of leadership he brings is another component as to why they dont want to sink $200M in him

Yup.
At least Fred provided some leadership, although pretty tough and stern type of leadership that could rub some players the wrong way.
Pascal seems like he doesn't provide much (if any) at all. Sure he'll joke and kid around with you, but you want more from a leader.

So I guess Kawhi/Durant/Embiid/AD and many others are horrible players because they don't provide leadership skills. There are like 35 to 40 max players in the nba, I guess they all must also suck if aren't true vocal leaders.

The Raptors weren't a bad team over the past few years because Siakam/Fred were bad leaders, we were a bad team because of the crap Masai put together. There is 0 debate to this. Fred is doing alright being a leader of the Rockets team who are surpassing expectations over there.

I'm not really sold on the shooting. It was 1 year at 40% on very low volume and he's playing with Luka, he should be getting way more attempts up really. The FT % would also indicate it might have been a fluke as well.

Now Chris Haynes similar to what he said about Kawhi is saying Pascal and Raps relationship dead. Masai is in a tough spot now. 100% we are not getting much of anything for Pascal.

Source? You wish it was true, didnt you?!

Why would I wish this were true lol, I want Raps to improve. But all signs are pointing to this and Chris Haynes has been right in the past. I am just restating what the media is implying as mouth pieces for these various teams. They are all conspiring to lower Pascals trade value. Masai is in a hard spot and doesn’t have leverage at all here.

Okay then it is "100%" and you have decided to trust the same people that told us that "Raptors will do whatever it takes to keep OG"/"no decision made" 24 hours before the trade.
Multiple teams need(now) and want Pascal thus Masai has plenty of leverage.

Everyone is willing to pay him the max. The issue is whether anyone is willing to pay him a 5 year max. In addition, Siakam has leverage now by telling teams whether he’s interested in resigning there. If no one wants to give him 5 years he’s better off waiting until the summer and signing wherever he wants (a sign and trade is possible).

If Kyrie and Harden could get good returns despite their uncertainty then Siakam will too going into a trade deadline he’s the best available player.

Pascal and Fred have been on record saying they want to chase the bag in the past year. Those arent leaders. One is gone, the other is next. The superstars you mentioned lead with their play on the court, Siakam isnt in that category but yet would be paid like one.

Philly seems like it would be a pick heavy offer, not ideal... Their young guys are so underwhelming. Really hope he doesn't get dealt there.

They would have done this over the summer and he'd still be eligible to be traded by the deadline. Dispelling any notion of Siakam being a rental and increasing his trade value.

Feels like there's going to be some dirty laundry aired out after Siakam leaves. Uncharacteristic that a home grown star that wanted to stay here, hasn't even received any contract extension offers at all. And now Siakam's agent is sabotaging the entire process
