KOC actually said a week or two ago that he heard some rumblings we might like him because he's more ready to contribute now.

Other than his age, doesn't seem like "NBA ready" would be what I would call him. He barely played this year and he played in a very weak conference the previous year, so I would anticipate a likely adjustment period necessary for him.

40 seconds into this video.....Scottie Barnes could SHOOT in an open gym....CMB can't....Scotties jumpshot was NEVER broken like CMBs....
The mechanics aren't bad at all for Scottie, he really shouldn't be the brick layer that he is from 3.
Just need muscle memory. Look at Pascal evenually becoming a 37-38% 3pt shooter.

lol I think I’ll trust Masai over you.
Or you could take a look at the tape and stats and decide for yourself. Masai has a good eye but is not infallible and often falls in love with projects.
He and Tolzman are still the best drafting FO of the past decade. I'm confident that they i) have more tape than you and I have access to, ii) can better interpret the tape better than you or I can, and iii) can better project off that data than you and I will ever be able to.
Also, you call it falling in love with projects, some will call it taking calculated risks and living with the results. For every Bruno, there is a Pascal Siakam.
Well I would hope they have better info than me! Despite their success, they also have tendencies and a degree of hubris when it comes to projects. Siakam was an accomplished scorer coming out of New Mexico and a very good defender. Of course, it took scouting to identify him and courage to believe he would translate, but the key things that make him special were already there. Same for Scottie, same for OG. It’s when they look at players as lumps of clay that can be folded (Bruno, Koloko, Dewan Hernandez, Chomche) that they make mistakes. I just happen to think that this is one of those times if Noa is the target, and it happens to be at a critical juncture for the team. I’ve explained many times why I think this with Noa.
Of course. I could be wrong, and I hope that I am if he’s the pick. I’m just expressing an opinion and concern

why are you so down on Denim Duff?
Ya, I think he could be like a fitter Josh Giddey. If he fills out, maybe Franz Wagner 2.0.

Pascal was knocking down middies in college. People look at his rookie season in the league and think he developed all this skill out of nowhere but he really didn't. It just took time for it to adjust to the NBA and for him to find his role.
People also don't give enough credit to system and types of shots when look at percentage. He was never going to shoot close to 40 on a raptors team with no spacing and minimal event creation. The pacers have a ton of shooting and creators for him to play off of. He rarely shoots a 3 that isn't assisted on that team.
CMB is more than likely going to be a Draymond type career shooter from deep. A guy who defenses dare to take that shot. He definitely needs to be somewhere with shooting around him. Just like we need shooting around Scottie.
CMB being drafted here would require a roster overhaul for him to ever work as a starter. One or both of Scottie and Jak would need to go, and we would need a stretch big.

Too bad. Toronto will draft CB3 and Phoenix will have to draft CMB.

If CMB is good enough that he forces his way into the starting lineup, that's not a bad problem to have.
He would be a perfect fit with Gradey/Ja'Kobe/Ochai off the bench, and gives us depth at the forward spot if Ingram or Scottie miss time. Don't think we'd need any roster moves at all to accommodate CMB for the next couple of seasons
