I did have a WCJ trade in mind but the more I think about it, the more I don't see Goga or Wendell being moved by the Magic. Future Fox News host Johnathan Isaac? Sure but he's basically salary filler at this stage. Orlando has got their own issues at center to solve and are poised for a consolidation trade to fix that with the salaries they've got on the books. Shame about the lack of picks, mind, but I can see them making a move to get Nic Claxton instead of gambling on the Wendell Carter Jr. experience every night because he is remarkably inconsistent.
Zeke Nnaji's contract is awful so there's an argument to be made that this isn't enough to get off of said deal for Denver so feel free to add in a 2nd rounder or two (A first-round swap might be a bit indulgent). Either way, I would not be surprised if - with the addition of CMB - Johnathan Mogbo is potentially moved if for no other reason than turning him into a second rounder would get the Raptors right under the luxury tax. This move is more of a long-term bet on rehabbing Zeke Nnaji but if he can't play well with Jokic...well that's what DaRon Holmes is there for. Not the biggest center and is more of a tweener but his profile on offense is a perfect fit for what we want out of our backup 5. Plus if you're a big believer in his shot, he could potentially soften the blow of losing Mamu in the offseason (Please just pay the tax and give him the TPMLE Ed).
I only included a 2nd for the Queta trade because of the Division Tax™ because, aside from him being injured right now, we haven't traded with the Celtics in a long time albeit we did allegedly call them about Jrue/White in the offseason. Frankly i'm only including him because I got to support my fellow Portuguese so shoutout to Neemias.
Sharpe still remains the most likely target in my eyes. Yes the Nets are division rivals but the Raptors have shown a willingness to trade with them far more than the other Atlantic teams i.e. the Schroder deal two seasons ago. Only hesitation I have is...well basically every deal we've made with the Nets has sucked. So this might be considered optimistic. That said, Sharpe can very well become a free agent this offseason so there's plenty of risk he might leave for nothing so maybe 1-2 seconds is enough given that context. Something something Scottie's friend. The real reason I think he's the most likely target is nothing to do with their friendship; Sharpe was one of the guys we were rumored to be going after at last year's trade deadline.
