Bamba is not a good defender right now. Also can’t avoid foul trouble. He will get destroyed by playoff offenses. Yes he is a rim protector but there is much more to defense than blocks. While Bamba has potential, he is far from a guarantee of ever being better than what he is now, an intriguing prospect that is not a rotation player on a playoff team. Many prospects don’t make it. Just like whoever ends up drafted with our 2022 1st. Just like Boucher before this season.

I think Precious who is younger than Bamba is further along in his development.

Bamba is a better shotblocker and shooter across the board (despite being the taller/longer player). I've seen Bamba do much more offensively than Precious. Also ever think some of the foul trouble also might be due in part to having to secure the rim for the league's worst defence?!

I'd like for us to somehow convert Dragic into D-Rose. Don't think the Knicks would bite.
Rose would be great coming off the bench for Fred. I think he still has game. He would be great for the playoffs, and to run our bench.

Raptors take on salary for next year, but Bledsoe adds a versatile guard who can play both 1 and 2. Freddy needs a breather.

A bit risky since he is very injury prone but still gives us exactly what we need. Dynamic 2 way player who can play 3 positions and fill in to start or play in a death lineup situation as well.

Defence is not amazing but I would say average to above average. 3pt shooting is a bit of concern but he is a proven scorer and also a very good passer and creator.

I would hope we could get him for Dragic, Flynn and a future 2nd. I'm sure the Pacers will ask for a 1st but I would hope no one else offers anything of value and we get him instead. Would be a perfect fit and plugs into multiple lineups. Can play with Fred or as a lead ball handler with the second unit.

Backup option is the same offer but get Warren and Justin holiday instead. Gives us some scoring and shooting. Not as dynamic as levert but still some real scoring depth.

He definitely does fit our style. In that role, he could be a good piece albeit a way too expensive one. Could be a similar trade chip next year. I'd want at least Blazers 2nd rounder from this year with it to take on extra year of salary though.

Feel like an 18 million expiring is worth more than a 32 year old guard who can't shoot

Should stay away from Nurkic and Turner. Nurk is a UFA I'm not trading what will likely be a pick in the 18-20 range for 2 months of Nurkic. He doesn't move the needle enough

Not a huge fan of Turner's game either. While he fits the ideal role of a stretch big, he's just so soft and I've never considered him to be as big of a game changer on the defensive end as his blocks might suggest. He also was frustrated with his role in Indiana, and if he came here he would again have a pretty limited role as a pick and pop/lob catcher. I guess the benefit with him is he's 26 so he fits our time line a bit, and he's expiring next year so we could always trade him again for a semi respectable return if it doesnt work out

Wonder how invested they are in Banton being part of the rotation because that makes it easier to get a gunner (like Ross) to just play off ball.. but tbh I think we're better off getting someone that can create offense like Dinwiddie even if he's been a meh shooter this year.

This is definitely posturing. Pacers are on powder if they think they're getting two firsts for an expiring Levert.

Ultimately it's their loss if they don't trade him since I can't see Levert resigning there.

Prefer to just do Boucher for White. Much younger and cheaper than Dinwiddie

You guys are gonna love having Yak back until he's clanging FTs in the Playoffs and useless offensively in crunch time.

He’s not a starter for this roster though. He would be an absolutely perfect matchup play in the playoffs - he won’t be on the floor in crunch time and he’s a good enough passer and screener that he’ll fit in just fine offensively. I just don’t see where you’re going to need to play him huge minutes, but if you’re going against Embiid in a 7 game series, yeah, he definitely helps.

I’m not sure he would be thrilled about that role, but his minutes vary with SA too and he never struck me as a guy that would be a locker room problem.

If you can somehow swing McDermott out of that, I really think it makes us a legitimate contender:
