Yes, 100%. RJ's return will take a lot of pressure off of him in a variety of ways. And you're completely correct, when Scottie can just sort of go with the flow, he's at his best. That's really the whole notion behind the team, that we have BI and Quick and RJ making life easier for Scottie to do Scottie things, and then everything clicks. We looked very good with those guys all on the floor.

Looking forward to getting back to that.

Barrett is unlikely to be here next year, we cannot afford Barnes, Ingram, Quickley and Barrett, plus Poeltl (or an actual C at a reasonable price).

If this team ends the year on the current pace and gets 49 wins , the optics of the team likely getting worse by dumping RJ in a cost cutting move probably isn't going to fly.

Nope. The owner has billions to massively overspend on Jays, no problem... start spending on your basketball team...

I don't think you understood what I wrote if you think that post was about disrespecting Scottie.

Or it is a disrespect to Ingram for only having 5 wins. Ingram almost win us the Miami game, scoring 20 points with the bench befor half time.

If he quoted me to respond to someone else in my post, then I suppose I could almost understand what he was talking about.

Not that I disagree with you for owners to spend more, but best is to pay reasonable, which is a way to win more games by getting more quality players (the other way is through draft and development). I wouldnt overpay VanVleet for that previos massive contract just for the sake of spending (yet, they did on Quickley and Trent).

Anyway, I would not expect we will have the same starting lineup by he end of the year, and most likely a downgrade.

Yep. I was responding to the guy before you. I was agreeing with you. If you'd like though we can argue about something else lol.

Nah, we're good. It just always messes me up when someone quotes my post to argue with someone else xD

2nd in NBA in 4th quarter blocks. Leads the NBA in clutch-time blocks.

Currently 5th best odds to win DPOY. He won't win it, but he is o track for an All-Defensive nod.

Yes, if healthy, and we continue on the same trajectory and win close to 50 games, he should be an all-star, 1st team all-defense, and possibly 3rd team all-NBA.

I can get behind most criticisms of Barnes and understand where they are coming from, and in fact agree with a lot of them.....except that he's overpaid. As if 28 other teams wouldn't max (HIS max) a 24-year old 6'8" 240lbs monster putting up 20/8/5, slashing 51/39/81 and 59 TS% while playing elite defense. Add in the fact that the Raptors are, sadly, one of the most undesirable locations to current players, and the overpaid argument is nonsensical.

I wanted jay Huff when he was in Washington and Memphis, that was easy to spot, not many 7footers move like him and he's able to space the floor. he's non-clunky and can play above the rim.

Scotties ability to get squared up on his jumper is an elite skill trait, especially on all those turnaround mids or pull up mids

Bonner and Blake mentioned wanting Barnes to go in for offensive rebounds more.

He is a load out there and he can attract 2 or 3 bodies when he's in there against most teams. I wonder if he could put on even more weight to really just overwhelm most 4s in the league.

Too many games where I check the halftime box score and he has 5 points. It’s getting ridiculous.

Yep. He's not overpaid.
