I'm pretty sure the Warriors match this. Could it be an intentional lowball offer?

I would much rather play for New Jersey. They actually have management

Yeah, completely different skillsets. Morrow's a pure shooter, Kleiza's a better defender/rebounder

they both suck on D, so why not take:

the guy who shoots 46% from 3pt land instead of the guy who shoots 33%?

46% >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> 33%

if bc does that then people complain that he doesnt care about defense, and if he doesnt then people complain that he didnt get the beet shooter, there will never be pleasing this board.

I'll say it too... I'd rather have him at that contract than Kleiza. And I like Kleiza. I guess we prefer the tough angle.

Great price for a guy like Morrow. GS better match or they're gonna regret it.

Meh, I've seen both of them play and both are pure jumpshooters. Kleiza has a wide body to bang inside though, don't know if he uses it much. Morrow has a better offensive game I'll give him that.

Kleiza is not a pure jumpshooter. 61% jump, 30% close, 8% dunk, 2% tips. Thats a comparable mix to Carmelo, Wade or Maggette - guys who mix it up.

Morrow shoots 85% jump shots and never dunks.

I'd rather have Linas Kleiza. Brings that toughness, defense and rebounding that the Raptors are in need of over Anthony Morrow. I know Anthony is a very, very efficient scorer with a career TS% of 59.3%, but Linas bring much more to the table for the Raptors. Career TS% of 56.1% which is above average and grabs 6.5 RPG/per36. Helps the defense much more than Morrow while being an above average offensive player.

Agreed. Linas actually looks to create contact, a DrawF of 13.4% for the Nuggets in 2008-2009 averaging 4.0 FTA/per36 something the Raptors need more of. I like the change of culture with Linas in the mix who's a bruiser on the offensive end and works very, very hard much like Amir. The Raptors need to intimidate their opponents without much skill and Kleiza helps this cause.

I like Kleiza but my problem with him is he seems to be a bit of a poser as far as defensive stuff go. He plays tough and takes the ball inside on offense, but on the defensive side, he's a well below average rebounder for a PF(where he has played more over the years) and does not put the same effort as he does on offense, both in man-to-man and steals&blocks. So I don't know if Kleiza is really better suited for the Raptors. The ideal free agent for that position, to me, would be someone like Josh Childress and ditching Hedo, but I know both would be difficult.

What is Nets doing? this is the stupidest thing i have seen this offseason, they are waisting their cap space on scrubs like Morrow,Petro and Outlaw. They couldved signed one star with that money they threw on those 3 scrubs.

I don't think Morrow is a scrub but NJ seems to really be scrambling now that the big FAs are gone. So far it's not really impressive who they've decided to sign... I think we'll be still be ahead of them in the division at least.

Interestingly, Marc Stein just posted that GSW will sign Dorrell Wright rather than match the Morrow offer sheet. Content to let him go. Maybe GSW is getting ready to play some D this year because Morrow was one of their worst defenders on a bad defending team.

Could it be that none of the big stars wants to go play in Newark? I know it's a nice arena and all, but it is Newark.

Kleiza is not a very good defensive player imo. He gives up too much speed and athleticism. He'll have trouble guarding the perimeter, and faster players will have no problems blowing past him.

Nice signing for NJ.

If they manage to sign Scola, they're no longer the worst team in the Atlantic
