We get a long, defensive-minded SF that can knock down 3's and has shown he can be a very efficient scorer. And he's just 22.

With #21 we can select a project big like Nogueira/Tyler, or perhaps Selby/Jackson/CoJo.

Personally I'd allow them to keep the pick. Batum into our TPE for the 5th pick straight up.

A steal like Marshon Brooks, Iman Shumpert or Josh Selby could be available at that pick. Just do Batum + 21 for #5 + TPE.

Miller and 23 for a top seven pick is about as stupid as Calderon moving us into top two

I would do the 5th for Batum and try and get the 21st as well so we can take a high upside pick like CoJo, Selby, or Tyler. I like Batum more than anything that will likely be there at 5 (unless Kanter is there).

Can someone please tell me what the fascination with Batum is all about?

I would much rather draft Kemba, I think he's gonna be a great pro.

From the corresponding thread on the Trade board:
Would Raptors fans support Calderon and the #5 for #21 and Miller. I imagine they would not. Take it a step further. Bargnani, Calderon, Kleiza and the 5 for Batum, Miller, Camby and #21?

Camby, Miller Batum and #21 would be the nuclear option where we clear a lot of capspace (Camby's expiring, Miller is fully unguranteed is waived before June 29th. I highly doubt we'd do it though, although it would allow us to go after a big time free agent next summer.

Oden for our #5?

I don't see Oden ever being able to play over 60 games a season. His knees are bad and even if he trims down his weight, the damage is done.

If we need a defensive C with upside, taking Biyombo would be 100x better than trading for 50 years old Oden.

if Portland wants Kemba then id do something like.. This is about the only Batum trade id do.

Andre Miller $7,807,728 (waived, unguaranteed)
Nicolas Batum $2,155,365

for

Jose Calderon $9,780,991
Rights to #5 (Kemba Walker)

giving us cap space to go after a C in FA we want. If the rumors of us wanting Flynn are true too then i could see another deal where we get Flynn

2 expiring vets that help now. A young big to add to the Scottie timeline
I'd prefer to keep Stew and give Monte Morris
I'd really prefer to keep Morris and Stew and give the great Killian Hayes and 2nd round picks

two trades:

JJ and the #5 for

Batum and Armon Johnson

Jose

for

Flynn and Tolliver

Bayless/Flynn
Demar/Barbosa/Johnson
Batum/Kleiza
Davis/Amir
Bargs/Tolliver/Alabi

Teams gains 3.7 million in additional capspace to bring total up to about 12 million for signing a small forward or center and allows for a trade for the other spot.

I would say, Camby for TPE

Miller + Batum + 21 for Jose + Aijinca or Weems + 5th.

Miller to tutor Bayless
Camby to tutor Bargs
Hard nose coach in Messina

Batum is a nice pick, but then we'd HAVE wayyyy to may SF/PF's

Not even close to a championship team, but a playoff team

lol.....Some posters don't want Flynn, but they'll gladly take the Human Crutch Greg Oden. Our fan base's fascination with big men is worse than Vince McMahon's.
