Why would we need a PG in return?

Let us play our **** point guards until the offseason

I'm against trading Jose. You will never get equal value. The biggest problem with Jose is his salary. But after this season he will only have one season left, hardly dead salary. Plus, if we get rid of him for expiring, what do you think we will do with his $10M? This team is not FA player. Capspace is useless. Jose is solid starting PG + great player off the bench. I think we would be able to resign him for MLE type of salary at end of his contract.

Bargs on the hand I would be willing to entertain trade ideas because I think his value is at all time high. Not convinced he would be able to replicate his current form for the whole season. If you are going to pull the trigger this would be the best time to do it.

And then what? Sign Raymond Felton?

Not surprised Brags is wanted...he really turned heads this season with his much improved D and great O...how good of a deal would do you think it take to part ways with him?

Wouldnt any point guard we'd get in return be of lower quality anyways?

Orlando - Stan Van Gundy LOVES Bargs, Otis is desperate, Dwight + Bargs = best front court in the league

Houston - McHale is desperate for size

could be more, but those two I'm quite certain are interested

We sometimes underestimate our, it's pretty de rigueur for this board. I'd guess lots of teams would like to have Bargnani (and his friendly contract). Even teams with good but older power forwards like the Lakers or Spurs would do well to switch now to a younger guy who offers similar production to their current guy, again at much less financial cost. Who does Denver have at the 4? Wouldn't you rather have Bargnani than David Lee at Golden State? Similar money, but I'd take Bargnani any day if I was the Warrior GM. I can keep on going, there could be a dozen teams, maybe more, who would be better off with Bargnani. That doesn't mean a dozen teams are phoning up with trade offers. Some don't have assets we'd want.

Say it, dagger! The Lakers would give up Pau for Bargnani!

Multiple picks or same caliber player as Bargs but younger. Anything less is pointless.

Bargs plus for upgrade, I can't see that happening. Raptors aren't really in the position for it imo.

3 or 4-team deal needed for Calderon imo. I think he becomes a Laker when it's all said and done, and I'm guessing the hold up is on our end, because I'm not so sure if we're ready accept the 2 1st rd'rs yet, maybe at the deadline when attempts at getting more via a 3rd or 4th team fails.

No to trading Bargs.
But hear is how I'd deal with Calderon and the PG situation:

Trade Calderon For a Mid round pick.
Then Sign Arenas. (Total gamble, apparently he's back to the 06 Arenas and has had a change of heart)
Then Package Bayless and that pick for a Lottery pick.

Draft Kabongo and Barnes.

2012-2013 Line up

Areans- Kabongo
Derozan- Barbosa (Resign)
Harrison Barnes- James Johnson
Andrea- Ed Davis- Gray
Val- Amir Johnson- Gray

That's a LOT of potential.

Bargnani's value has to be at an all-time high. Consequently, it'll be extremely unlike that BC moves him. Calderon on the other is different. Since we're soooooo convinced that Bayless is not a PG, AND that he can't develop his PG skills, stupidly requiring another PG back in moving him, he'll be very hard to move. The teams interested in him have nothing that we should be interested.

I'd love to get Eric Biedsoe though, somehow as far as young PGs go.

I'd love to see Bargnani and Calderon get traded provided Colangelo can get fair value. Any ideas who the Raps could get their hands on?

I can't see us getting equal value for Bargs in a deal right now, and given his decent contract I probably wouldn't want to move him.

As for Jose, if we can get expirings and a pick or prospect, or perhaps include Ed, Bayless, and/or our protected 2013 pick along with Jose to get an upgrade at PG, then I'd be ok with that. Otherwise we're probably better off holding onto him for now.

I'd be in no rush to trade Bargs. Would like to know who we pick with our draft pick first.

Houston has Lowry and Dragic. They don't need a $10 million 3rd string point guard

He used to specialize in ballsy, franchise-defining moves, though his hand was forced to some extent with Kidd. With Toronto, not so much.

Plus, Flynn is utterly appalling.

I swear our fan base has an obsession with other teams 12th men; it's absurd. Flynn sucks.

Return to Toronto Raptors
