Re: Raptors NBA Draft Thread: Jeremy Lamb
I'm on-board with Lamb @ 8 if Barnes is (probably) gone. And I think there's a good chance Lamb is available, if we want him.

Barnes will be gone before 5th and Lamb is the #7 pick, we will have to live with Lillard...

If the Raps pick 7th we either get Lamb or one of those guys. Yall acting like we're picking 10th
good point. gotta stay at 7 though or it's gonna get risky.

The only mock that has Lamb at 7 right now is nbadraft.net who has been the highest on
him from day 1. Chad Ford and Draft Express have had him in the 9-12 range. Hopefully
the latter is right and hopefully one of the teams in front of us draft Sullinger or
Perry Jones bumping something good to us.
Lamb is my guy for our range... I think teams are worried about his size but that can be
greatly overrated a guy like Joey Graham who was built like a rock had no talent and
a 5 cent brain so I'll take a guy with talent and smarts any day weight can always be
added.

I'll be praying this kid falls to us but I'm telling you he's going to be a combine king.
I actually think he's going to shock one of Beal or Barnes and be drafted before one of them.

At 7 lamb is our guy, he has to be...
** If we fall to 8th and Utah gets GS pick they would definitely take a pg over Lamb with Burks and Hayward already on the roster.
So I think Lamb is our player either way unless Barnes or Drummond falls. Can't really see any other player beside Lamb climb up the charts...

Very high upside. Good shooter, has length, great athlete, quick.

Re: Raptors NBA Draft Thread: Jeremy Lamb
Everything Colangelo and Casey talked about today with adding another scorer, shooter,
guy who runs the floor and addressing the SG/SF role screamed Lamb to me.
Outside of his lack of size issues (who doesn't on the Raps) its a no brainier pick for us.

If we fall to 8th that means GSW gets their pick back which is why they were tanking so hard.
They're obviously more likely to draft Sullinger than Utah since Bogut is down but LEE is a good chunk of salary himself and if you risk criticism of giving a rookie more playing time I think they definitely try Lamb occasionally over Klay instead of Sully over Lee but again who knows....Sully would be an excellent way to solidify their front court rotation. Hopefully they go even dumber and draft PJ3 out of "fit" lol

He'll climb up the draft like Tyreke Evans did a few years ago.
Lamb's skillset is made to thrive in these pre-draft workouts, and he'll impress a LOT of GMs.
I seriously doubt he'll be available at number 8. But you never know. Then again, I'm not even sure if BC would take Lamb.

Re: Raptors NBA Draft Thread: Jeremy Lamb
Just read David Aldridges SG big board and he has Beal and Rivers ranked ahead of
Lamb saying Lamb will go mid first.
I like others think Lamb will climb the ranks in the draft combine but I think he'll
have a hard time cracking the top 6....
I think the biggest obstacle in Colangelo drafting Lamb is does he think him and DeRozan
can play together on the floor at the same time from a size stand point.
Lamb is listed at 6'5 180 lbs
DeRozan is listed at 6'7 216 lbs

I've been saying since the start of the season that I think Jeremy Lamb will measure in at 6'7" or more in shoes at the combine. Add that to his freakish length and hops and the guy will be able to play the SF spot in the NBA. Obviously, he's light in the cakes though...

I've said the same thing no way he looks like hes 6'5.... The Raps are pretty
worried about their skinny players like Val, DD, and ED will they be scared
off of Lambs skinny wiry frame?
Other then that potential hurdle he seems to be a slam dunk pick for us

Re: Raptors NBA Draft Thread: Jeremy Lamb
I highly doubt he measures 6'7....6'6 at best but regardless scouts will drool all over again over his insane length.
The incredible thing about this kid is he IS the most well-rounded in terms of offensive skill and is the BEST scorer out of any wing in the draft. I just can't get over everyone calling him unaggressive yet he averaged almost 18ppg....I mean really if he was then "aggressive" what is it that scouts expected him to score per game??? 24ppg?!?!? Than he would be a lock for 2nd overall at worst. I agree he has the talent to do that but that's the point. The kid is apparently not being aggressive enough, yet his unaggressive side is better than the rest of the other wings aggressive side -- put that in perspective.
Another way to think of it; he's considered unaggressive but if PJ3 was averaging just under 18ppg, where do you think he goes in this draft? I think he would be a lock for top 4 and actually if he were scoing THAT MUCH than I bet most scouts would be sold on him being a legit threat to become a franchise player.
Lamb is such a huge sleeper in this draft it's crazy.
I've been saying forever that a coach that gets Lamb to mix it up more and not fall in love with his jumper will have stolen this draft. I use "steal" pretty losely with names like PJ and Drummond but really those guys need LOTS of work; Lamb just needs reminders to be a truly elite SG.

We just need our guys to be wiry strong, Kevin Durant is the hope for skinny basketball players around the world.

Ya I'll take skill over lack of great size any day. Joey Graham had a great NBA body
put had no talent. Lambs wingspan is great as well if he can play for Calhoun he can
play for anybody. Im not worried about his motor at all.

Definitely Lamb, they trade Ellis away not just because of his contract but he can't play off-ball. Lamb is good off-ball which gels with Curry alot better than Curry with Ellis and he'll provide a good secondary leading scorer option and bumps up to primary go-to-guy option if Curry sits out with hernia dick injury or whatever, he'll be perfect for the 2 spot while Klay or Dorell Wright play at 3...it balances their lineup really well. I don't really see them taking a 4, Lee is still a very serviceable guy and Bogut if healthy, both guys can do alot of damage in the paint then. So its the wing they'll take. I'm positive of it.

Lamb is such a huge sleeper in this draft it's crazy.
That's why I'm so obsessed with his shooting 60% on 2 pointers this year. Let's say he took another 4 shots inside the arc a game (this would put him at the number of attempts Marshon Brooks took a game last year) and only managed to hit 2 of them. converting at 50% instead of his usual 60%, since these are more "forced" shots. He'd be at 22 points a game, still shooting 48% overall, down to 56% on 2pt shots, which is still 10% better than Barnes, just above Beal and right around where the super-efficient James Harden was, and he'd probably be the #2 pick.
How hard is it to tell the guy to shoot more? I love him and hope we get him. He's very fluid, crazy long and an efficient scorer. Teach him how to come off screens and you've got a really good NBA scorer. If he shoots well in workouts, I'd be worried he'll be gone.
The downside to him is he doesn't look likely to be an elite all around player. But with his length and athleticism, he might be a sneaky good team defender.
Where's the D?
